"The Wedding"

Posted in Family

Our daughters wedding was Sat, May 31st. Our son was home for a couple of weeks leave from the Navy and left yesterday , sniff.

Life will get back to norm soon, a light rain fall today with birds and bullfrogs singing. Just a good time to share about the wedding. Got a few pic's. I can't wait to see the real pictures, you know the ones you spend big bucks for !!!!!

DD and our new SIL had an outdoor wedding at his folks farm, it was perfect and beautiful. Looked like storms but heaven open a big circle around the wedding and made it wonderful. There was just a few drops of rain about an hour before the wedding, not more then 2 minutes long, Kisses from Heaven I said.

Rehearsal evening went well, oh some horsein around and kids playin in the field and looking at the cattle. Lots of food and people, gosh we could have pulled off a wedding at that time and skip the next day, but sure glad we didn't cuz if was awesome.

The wedding day started with pictures at SIL aunts house.

Heres our son with his baby sister, bride to be, our youngest DD

Pictures of the flower girls waiting for pictures by the pond, the two end girls are our granddaughters, two in the middle are sisters. They didn't know it or could care less but they are all related through the marriage : ) They were oh so into their pretty dresses, little princesses

Here I am giving some last minute motherly advise, enough already MOM!!!!

Some touching up on the updo's

Ahhh our baby girl is getting married, sniff, sniff

The Tent:

Wow it was a biggy, enough room in there for a huge dance floor and big round tables. 300 invites went out and you think maybe half will show up, nope, there was 220 chairs and 30+ people were standing. so don't count on that. Straw bales where trying to be found, but not, for make shift seating. So when you found an empty seat you took it or you just went up and danced : )

This tent was so pretty at night with little white lights all around

The Ringbearer"

Our little grandson 2 yrs, Wheres the ring? "I dun know"

Our youngest grandson, 1 yrs old, "Whats a wedding???"

The Wedding:

While everyone is seated over looking the pond and the groom awaits his bride to be, here she comes with her court in an old wagon drawn by a work team of horses. Its like a fairly tale wedding, but more country then Disney.

Heres a picture of that beautiful team of horses, Cinderella top that,

As the wagon was being pulled across the lake soft music was being played in the background

Flower girls and ringbearer:

These girl took their part very serious, Junior flowergirls, the curly blonde is our oldest GD

This is the little flower girls, the taller one is our second GD

Now taking his part serious but more casual is our oldest GS, look his shirt is sticking out , oh well, boys!!!!!!

Here is Dad giving his baby girl away, oh this is a big sniff, sniff, Dad's not mine, I didn't want my mascara to run, I was tough!!!!! I did bring tissue tho : ) Come on , we're getting a son not losing a daughter. BTW our new SIL, we love him : )

Getting Hitched:

the preacher was awesome

Bride and groom , looks like they are taking off , must be a honeymoon thing!!!!!!

Reception:

Oh its so nice to have it all under one roof, wedding and reception, less travel.

Here's the food lined up, yum

Those that got chairs dug in fast

The little ones hit the dance floor , Looks like they are doing a line dance, showing brother how its done. It needed to be dark before us olders one cut a rug.

The Dj rocked those tunes tell 3:00 in the morning, it was the longest he's ever stayed at an event.

Now this was just a wonderful wedding and everyone had fun and we could not have asked for better weather.

I want to say perfect but you know nothing is perfect but our Lord God. But let me share a blessing, I and many feel it was covered by angels . You know the horse drawn wagon carrering all my grandbabies and both our daughters and my dd friends and now family safely over the lake, doing a super great job and driver too who is family. Everyone unloaded and wedding ceremony going on when the newly weds were pronounced husband and wife, everyone clapped and the horses jumped and !!!!!!!!!!! look what happen

The hitch to the wagon snapped like a toothpick, Praise God it did not happen when the family was on there. Just Praise God.

Now this next picture is a doosey, DD likes things a little different but this takes the cake, pun intended. She wanted to have cup cakes for her wedding, WHAT I said , cupcakes!!!!!!! yes pretty decorated cupcakes, with the main cutting cake for the bride and groom. But have different flavor cakes all decorated up , no cutting , just come up and get a cupcake. I was convinced that this is a pretty good and different idea, so go for it.

Ok the cupcakes:

Something bad went wrong, the cup cakes where to be on a glass five tier piece, it broke :(. the cake designer made a make shift one out of cardboard with plastic colorful drinking cups to hold it up, it was at a tilt and ready to fall over. Its the most saddest wedding cake I have ever seen. But it will go down in history i'm sure. Here ya go, not everything in this ol world is perfect and heres proof.

I felt bad for the cake designer and the same time felt really bad for our daughter, after all this is her wedding. The best part and I think the most important part is our daughter said it will be ok and gave me a kiss and it was. She is beautiful inside and out.

Cup cakes were good : )

They had a great honeymoon, we were all kind of surprised where they went tho, Grand Canyon. They both never been there, they had great fun.

Heres DD after she got back, our Ggirls play T-ball so she made it to the game, she might be a married women now but she is still our baby girl.

Thanks for dropping by and looking at some of the wedding pictures. Life is a cup cake, gets a little tilted at times but its still good : )

Blessings all
linda

Happy News

A Day Of Happy News

Day of happy news, our son who's been over in Iraq , in the Navy got home back to the states today, Whahooooooo. He couldn't tell us much , like his location or when he was coming home when he would e-m or be able to use cell phones over in Iraq. But he is here and almost home, just a few states over. I looked toward the west as the sun went down today and said hes just right over there. We have missed him so.

On his way back to the states they stopped off in Ireland, said he bought me some Irish Mead, hummmm. Never tasted mead before, its a honey wine he said and in a bottle that I will like. I reuse pretty bottles for vinegar's and such.

I'm drinking a nice cup of hot cocoa right now, with the door open its so nice and cool and the night sounds , coyotes just awhile ago. They get frisky this time of year and you can hear them most every cool nights.

Another thing that is frisky and dangerous is the deer, bucks in particular. Its dumb buck season and they do get a little goofy. Sis and I were heading home and one buck with the biggest rack almost ran into my side of the window which was open, so I heard its hooves and seen its antlers coming at me. I could have touched them they where that close. It was night so it was a surprise when those deer jump out. Nobody or deer was hurt , just startled. We had a family friend killed by a buck doing the same thing coming through her passenger window. Very tragic.

I hate to see animals getting killed by traffic, it can be so dangerous for all concerned , so do be careful and keep sharp eyes out when traveling this autumn.

This weather is awesome, and the leaves are coloring up everyday. We will be going on our weekend trip and sleep in tipi's . Its suppose to be nice in the daytime 70's and high to middle 50's at night. Hope we are going on the peak of autumn showing but it still could be another week tell that happens.
We'll have a happy tipi with our son being back home , we'll laugh and take lots of pictures to show him.

Well its hard to top that good news about our son back home from Iraq, but I got some kitchen good news. Can one have kitchen good news, will yes why not. Ok I have always wanted a gas heavy duty range and oven. This new electric counter top range is not cutting it for major canning. I put on a big pan of water for hot baths for the maters and it sounds like its cracking and breaking the elements. SOOOO yesterday I was at my friends who is also a client, who caters. She is getting a cherry red gas range stove. where talkin a $12,000 big boy . Now I just made a comment about her only a year and a half old gas Wolf range. She said "you want it I'll sell it cheap to you!!!!!"

She said it was a $7000 , and she got it wholesale for $4000. I heard those figures and already knew a NO Thank You was going to come out of my mouth. "I can let you have it for $800. and you can do it in work for me". We'er takin barter here!!!! And that includes all the extras that she bought for it :). I was in a state of WOW.

Something that I have wanted for many years will be in my kitchen by November. She said it can bake 300 cookies at once, its a great stove and I'm excited to make my kitchen the harvest kitchen I always wanted. I see my girls cooking on it more then I but I do like the heaviness for canning so it will be will worth it. She is giving me her dishwasher as well, oh my, haven't had one of those for sometime. I still like to wash by hand tho. but I'll use it to hide duty dishes, lol.

Now on another note, on kitchens. I see many homes with huge kitchens, kitchens that look like pieces of furniture for cabinets and all the fancy stuff you can think of to cook with . Fridges with glass doors that you can see all the foods or crystal clear drinking water, now that looks pretty good. But I like to hide what's in my fridge, what if its growing fuzz or something, I don't want anyone to see that, nope I like fridge doors that you can't see through.

But lets talk size. A big kitchen is nice but were takin walking , many mile maybe if your fixin dinner for a big family. And the truth of the matter I have seen more food come out of the tiniest kitchens then the bigger ones ever did. Oh if I'm in a clients home its usually pizza night or something that is nuked. Not to much cookin goin on. My Mom has a small counter and she uses her table and she cans up a storm and cooks one up to. She uses every inch of her kitchen.

There use to be an editor that wrote cooking articles in the newspaper, we did work for her and she had one of the tiniest kitchens ever and here she was preparing foods for article right ups. Its not how big a kitchen is or what you got in it. But that you use it and create foods that will be remembered and craved for. I think that's why Thanksgiving is so special for many. You cook and cook and the smells and flavors of the Thanksgiving dinner stays on the hearts and minds for a long time, so good it is that we crave for more. But just Thanksgiving mind you , that's a lot of cookin, ok ok Christmas and other Holidays to.

My favorite kitchen was an old farmhouse that my folks rented, it was big, and even bigger cuz all we could afford was a fridge, the kind you had to use an ice pic to get one ice tray in. They had an electric stove there already and I can still remember that smell every time we turned it on. It had a red top and chrome legs table , oh my you remember those, but had no chairs, so we stood around standing eating our food. We mostly ate outside sittin on the porch steps, no chairs out there either : /.

One time Mom made some pumpkin pies , a couple of them and she had them set out on the table. We all had to go somewhere, it wasn't Thanksgiving either , seems like we went to the pond for a dip, well getting back to have some pie we notice little foot prints on the pie, it was mice prints. They manage to hike up the legs of the table and do a square dance on our pumpkin pies. Dang mice.

Even tho that kitchen had hardly anything in it, it was the one that has inspired me to have a harvest kitchen. Oh mom always canned but she would do it outside in a big wash tub and a fire pit, she would have her tomatoes and even green beans (a big no no ) canning them in a hot bath. But the modern world has many advantages and still old fashion ways that can work together for the end result.

To me a kitchen that has the smell of baked breads homemade soups, spices simmering , oh its a favorite part of the home. It brings family together.

Now we might not have had the tiniest kitchen ever but I do know we had to have the smallest bathroom ever. I think it would make the record, an outhouse would have been a mansion. This bathroom was so small that when you sat on the toilet your knees and feet would be sticking out the doorway, you couldn't close the door, and we were small kids. It was strange to say the least.

Oh our memories, aren't they fun.

All take good care, and thanks for the visit

Blessing

Mom's Birthday

Posted in Family

Happy Birthday Mom
Its Mom's 81st Birthday today : ). Mom loved horses growing up , if she wasn't working and hunting she was out riding. Riding in pastures that are now cover with concrete and houses. A lot of change in just a few years. I remember riding a horse on the same pastures Mom did. Her and my Dad kissed while each riding on a horse at a road crossing. But first met on the road , Mom was putting chains on the tires. I think it was love at first sight for both. They were a handsome pair, and my friends at school would always tell how good looking they were.

Mom loved to sing and she sounded like Doris Day, remember her? One of Mom's favorite songs was "K-sa-rah-sa-rah Whatever will be will be,the futures not our's to see K-sa-rah-sa rah". Not sure the spelling on the first and last part. And then Mom and Dad would have us singing, "We ain't got a barrel of money , maybe were raggin and funny , but were travel along, singin our song, side by side". Oh remember that one !!!!!!!

Mom still has her fishing fever up after the float trip last Saturday, so we might take a fishing trip soon. But all she has to do is go up to one of her ponds and throw a line in.

Mom still works in our family business, she gardens, she put out over 100 tomato plants this year along with many other rows of veggies. She does the truck row type of garden. I keep telling her about the raised beds and how early you can get plants out , but when your set in your ways your set, oh well.

She cans all those mater too. Makes lots of lime pickles and jellies. And a heck of a good cook. She took after my grandmother.

Mom loves to mow on her brand new riding mower. A good artist but she doesn't do that any more. She writes a daily journal and loves to read the weekly paper, Coon Ridge is her favorite article in the Plainsmen , I think that's the name of that paper.

Moms a prayer warrior and I think many prayers were answered because of Moms quite prayers. You'll see Mom in the morning looking out her kitchen window with a cup of coffee. She will tell me of the deer , wild turkey, birds that she feeds , a coon that comes on her porch looking for the cats food, a groundhog family eating weeds, she liked that, and a neighbors Emu eating in her garden, she didn't like that. Mom even was there years ago when the cougar walked right by us about 15 ft away. She didn't believe I seen the big cat the first time until she seen it herself.

Grandmother of three and great grandmother to 4. The kids will be over with a cake to celebrate a very beautiful women that has touched the hearts of many . Her family, friends, her business clients and even those that she meets when she goes groceries shopping. Your never a stranger in Moms life. And if you go to visit she does what her Mom always did, put's out the food.

I love to hear Moms stories of her youth, how hard times didn't really seem hard cuz the town they lived in everyone was pretty much in the same boat. They would hunt and fish for food, have a garden , even had a thousand chickens. Family of 7 kids in a small house, they each had their own chores to do.

Mom was really an outdoors girl , the firstborn, I think gramps wanted a boy cus he would call Mom, Bill.
Yep Mom didn't mind, she liked all that outdoor stuff and going along with her Dad was everything to her.

Mom tells of a time when she was looking in a hole where she was hunting and was sprayed in the eyes by a skunk. She claims her good eye sight from that event. Also shared how her brother got a mean streak and was shooting bb's at her up a tree and when gramps heard about it he wrapped my uncles bb gun around a tree trunk.

Mom would share stories of different neighbors and those that she worked for cleaning their houses or doing things to make a little extra money for the family. How going to the movie theater cost 10 cents and that one time when they brought their own pop corn in a bag, grandma accidently pour skunk grease over the popcorn instead of butter .

Mom was never afraid of any type of work, and growing up we seen Mom as a work horse , never wanting anything other then getting the bills paid and food for the family. But she and Dad sure loved to fish and when they could find an opportunity to go fishing they did. Their dream was to live on a river houseboat. Living in the city , their heart was in the country, and Mom was the home/house finder and we would get a few farm house along the way. Not until the early 70's we all moved to the sticks for good.

Theres many stories of Moms life, funny ,sad, life. But let me share one of the craziest of all that Mom did in her older years. Mom was in her early 70's, ok I don't know what got into my sister and Moms head that day but they both took turns rolling in a metal barrel down Moms pond dam , I asked ,what did you do that for???? Answer---- Because.

When Dad passed, Mom had the tombstone engraved with her name, so when it's her time she would be right next to Dad. I thought it was strange looking but it was what Mom wanted. The trouble with that was it had , the year 19---- , they would just have to chisel in the last digits of the year. Hello, Mom is still here and it 2007. Way to go Mom.

Mom lives life simple , a really less is more type of gal. Loves nature, her home is where she loves to be the most. Mom would say when we growing up , that if your down just get you a little something for a pick-me-up, that would do it, usually it was a bowl of candy : ).

Happy Birthday Mom, love you forever and thank you for everything big hug
Hope to grow up just like ya !!!!!!

Blessings many

Fun Weekend With The Grandkids

Posted in Family

 magnify
Had a great weekend with the family . Another cookout at the campsite and a wagon ride for the little grandkids. Our little grandson 6 1/2 months was rearin to go, in the picture, needed to get his britches on because we thought it might get a little chilli, but it stayed very nice the whole time.

The kids love the trails either walking or riding. I took them for wagon ride on the trails with their auntie, our youngest dd. The baby stayed back at the camp with his mommy and daddy. The 2 yr old wanted oh so much to drive the tractor/mower, hes all boy. Well when we got out in a clearing I took him on my lap to let him think he was driving. The mower blades are always off when the kids are around, it turns into a little tractor. You hear horror stories of accidents with mowers . We always have everyone stay in the house when we mow, whether pushing or riding, they can be very dangerous out here in the rough countryside. But this mower was safe and we go riding at a snails pace to enjoy the scenery. We call it our little tractor when we pull the wagon behind.

Now you would think he was a big boy sitting up straight with both hands on the wheel. I could see his little cheeks rise up from looking behind him on my lap and then he would turn and look at me with those big blues and said it all in his eyes, thank you grandma, I love you.

On down the path I heard him singing loud, he was soooo happy. He would point to the top of the trees, daring now with just one hand on the wheel , he would point to the clouds watching a rain cloud come in. Then he would talk and sing somemore. Driving back to the campsite he was waving all get out at his folks , it must have been a million dollar smile he gave them from the looks of their faces.

Hes a grandpas boy but maybe a little grandma favor came out yesterday. I got a high five from him.

Now the girls wanted to play hide and seek, I had to be the one to find them. And I assured them I was not peeking. Its hard to not find someone when they are just standing by a skinning tree and they are wearing white in a green woods, lol. But I played along. The last hide was the oldest and she really did a good one. She hide in the wagon under the blanket. I walked around and then seen an unusual shape under the blanket , but not a movement one, She was good. So I said out loud , I can't find you, guess I'll have to take the wagon and go looking, so I fired up the wagon, looked around , still no movement then drove around in a circle and still no pop up and a surprise. Well I guess I'll have to give up and have a seat in the wagon and move all these covers over I shouted. Then feeling the covers I said, who put rocks under the covers and then said, I wonder if the the rocks are ticklish, she then popped up with a big giggle , she fooled her grandma.

We had fun. Had apple cider for drinks. Was going to heat it up but everyone wanted it cold this time. Lets wait tell its cooler for the hot cider was the consensus.

Earlier that morning dh and I was starting out for a walk on our trails when one of our friends we hadn't seen for awhile shows up. We had a great visit and caught up on everything. His dd came over with her little ones and they where having fun running all over. So with that group of youngins and our group later that day . DH and I had a full day of little kids , 7 yrs and under, 7 all together, full of energy that you would like to bottle up just a fraction of.

Now I know what they were talking about being "great to be a grandparent", You get all the fun stuff and when everyone is getting tired , all goes home and you get to have a good rest too, lol. Yep having kids is for the young, lol.

I'm going to head out on the trails soon , the trees are calling me. The rustling sounds say ,hey its Autumn come out and have a few leaves float around you. I'm bringing my new pumpkin book I just got , its so colorful and has some great ideas, along with my coffee. Enjoy the morning and then get into the workshop for the rest of the day.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by for a visit. I always enjoy. I'll be reading blogs later tonight so I'll stop by for a visit myself. Take good care

Blessings

Weekend With The Family

Another warm day here in MO. and tomorrow to. Wednesday we may get some rain and then a little cooler. I'm ready.

This weekend we had the grand girls over and a sleep over. They are 4 and 5 years old and so full of creative things to do. We had everyone over for a lasagna dinner, it turned out good

That evening we took the girls for a wagon ride on the trails, the trails need to be a little trimmed cuz we were dodgin bushes at some spots. The wagon is just one of those small pull behind a mower, but it held my dd the two girls and myself. We were sandwiched in but it was comfy. Hubby got the spider webs while he was driving the mower.

After the woods they needed to wash up so the girls hit the whirlpool bath, I tossed in some bubble bath, where did they go??The bubbles got out of control and they where havin a blast. One of the girls popped up and looked like Santa Clause with a beard of suds on her face. They had such fun . I got them new jammies for them to keep here when they come for a visit and they look so cute running around. Prayers said, ready for bed and a couple of hours later they finally went to sleep.

We put their cots next to the big picture window in our room and the moon shone through and lit up everything. The last time they stayed over which was a couple of weeks ago, the 5 yr old said we can look at the Constellations, gosh I sure didn't know that word when I was 5!!!!!!

In the middle of the night one asked for a drink of water, time I got back which was not but a minute she was back asleep again, oh well. I drank the water and just watched as my grandgirls where sleeping, the moon shinning on them , they looked so angelic, so beautiful my little loves.

This morning in their play room in the art studio, which is right next to my computer. The oldest 5yrs came out with a pencil and paper and was taking my order for breakfast. She told me that the house special was good, so I ordered that. She brought out a plate of plastic bacon, a plastic waffle and a cup of make believe tea. Yum. I hardly got it down then she swooped it up and brought me out more, lol.

These are my little homesteaders growing up. So full of adventure and wanting to know many things. Why did you say that grandma, what does that mean grandma. Can we go to the garden, can we walk the trails. Always wondering and asking. Then saying things that make me wonder, where did they learn such a word like that or a praise. You would think they where scholars instead of a 4 and 5 year old. They study and take note and learn so fast. It does seem that kids are getting smarter.

One time last year, our trash bucket was gone from the kitchen, someone forgot to bring it in so I used a plastic bag for the trash which was lying on the floor. The 3 yr old wanted to throw away a piece of paper and she was standing right by the bag on the floor. I had a time trying to tell her to throw it in the bag that it was our trash can. After the paper was contained, she was kinda sad, I asked what was wrong, she said she didn't understand my trash, lol. I felt bad too b/c I didn't explain it better. I was saying the bag was a can and no wonder she didn't understand my trash. Sometimes I don't understand my trash either. I mean I get a bucket full with just the two of us everyday. That's what I don't understand. I pull things that might be able to hold something else for a recycle, but I still have stuff to throw away.

Down by the compost many things from the trash get put in there and if there is scraps for the chickens they get that.

I think of the things that our little ones see us do and I think its good for them to see the things we pitch in the trash can be used again and again.

Now I can improve much on this. All the paper that they have drawn on will be recycled for making more paper. Keeping their Picasso's of course. But what a learning experience they will have making paper. They love to pick flowers and smell the herbs, so gatherings from the garden will make beautiful papers.

Someday I'll teach them to knit. They will be dying some wool's with Kool-Aid for a school project in the next week or so, they will like that. Theres many things that we will learn together.

Blog news, I moved my photos from Yahoo to Flickr, I have been organizing them in sets. B/c of the move they gave me a 3 month free PRO account, so I can have many pictures. Then after the 3 months I can decide if I want to buy into it or not. Heres my link to the photostream, I will be adding more pictures soon.

Flickr: My Photostream

Going in town tomorrow with sis for her check up. She under went chemo and is Cancer Free, Praise God, Praise God, Praise God. She was such an inspiration for many that was going through what she did, she was and is an inspiration to me and any that meet her.

Havin a short day tomorrow so we'll get back to the workshop. Another hot one it looks like. There will be a lunar eclipse early morn, about 5:00 AM. DH hubby gets up at 4:30 so he's going to wake me up for this. If I have enough get up and go I would like to go on the trails, but I probably will just look out the window with one eye open , check out the moon and shut the other eye for some more ZZZZZZZZZ's

Thanks for dropping by, I'm heading for some visit's myself tonight.
Have a great tomorrow, hugs

Blessings

Mud Pies Anyone

That's what happens when you get a water hole and the grandkiddies over. Its like the two were meant to be.

Picture is our landscaping project, the Big Mud, with the grandkids thinking , wow is this fun!!!!!!!!

Gosh I remember as a a kid after big rains, oh how it was fun to watch the river of water go down the street, and use sticks as boats and watch them go down stream. And all the good cooks had to start out with mud pies, It was tryin to get someone to eat them that was sometimes difficult. Maybe needed to add more season or something!!!!! Bugs are good!!!

It was grandkiddy day yesterday, DD took baby for his 2 month checkup, boy is that hard to believe, time is going by so fast. We were off on his weight at guessing. The other three stayed with me . We stayed up in the art room and made Mothers Day cards

I had some Scots/Irish of Missouri's Ozarks music on and at one time we were havin a ho-down. We had fun!!!!!

When DD came home it was outside and down to the chickens and the garden. While they played in the garden I clean out the chicks pen, oh boy , those Cornish X are a messy bunch of chicks. This will be the last time I raise this type of bird and just raise the Barred Plymouth Rock. This Cornish X is a very fast growing bird indeed, but so messy. I got them April 19th and they look like they can be dressed out already. This month I will order 100 Barred Plymouth Rock, straight run , dress out the roosters and have the rest of the hens for the eggs. That's the plan.

When DH got home we were still outside and of course when you tell a 22 month old to not get into the puddle, well you know , to him it means get into the puddle. So instead of why fight it but join it,lol. So off came the shoes and the britches and jumped into the water/mud puddle. They had a blast.

It was like, "We can get muddy" ahhhh go for it. We talked about how kids use to play in the dirt and was healthy most the time. Kids need to play in the dirt, we get to worrying about all the diseases and they are there , but we can get so paranoid we lose the fun things in life. Our bodies need dirt!!!!! Don't you feel great when your working in your gardens?. According to scripture man came from dirt. Dirt we came and dirt we go, Sometimes I feel like a compost!!!!!

It was a good set up, water on the driveway, lawn chairs lined up by the driveway ( these are suppose to be back at the campsite). There old metal chairs, the kind that last forever and look like it. Well DH took the worst one and all of sudden he was falling backwards, omg, he landed his head next to a big rock, it was kinda slow motion, I grabbed my camera and yelled Blogging Material, Blogging Material. It was a site so I didn't want to share that picture but the kiddies instead, lol.

When it was time to clean up, all went in for a warm bath. I and the new little fellow stayed out on the hammock, oh how he stretched and smiled and even did some words in baby googoo, I think he said I love you grandma, now that's pretty good for a 2 month old , hehehe !!!!! I got a zillion pictures of each move he made.

When all the kids left it was mowin time. Our riding lawn mower is down, so its push mowing. DH and I take shifts, each of us will mow until its out of gas, then its the others turn. At this rate will be done mowing , Yikes!!!! will never be done mowing!!!!!!!! The idea of getting goats sound more appealing every time. We'll have crop circles if we tether them out, and probably have the press come out and wonder how/ who made those ,but will have the "Somebody Lives Here Look".

We have had a break in the rains, until Thursday, on the weather channel they were saying flooding in MO, could be like the '93 floods.

Sis and I are going in town/city today and meet up with clients , hope we can get through in some areas. Our first stop is at another favorite spots, Greenwood , MO. Great place to go shopping for antiques.

I'm more the chip and dent kind of person, curb side finds and a little dumpster diving if I can. Found a fencing outfit and old silverware in our school dumpster a few years back. I asked if I could have the boxes they were throwing away. Well I just can't help to look further in a dumpster and there it was all this stuff. loaded it up and thought,Why would anyone throw this away??? " This stuff could be HOT". So I went to the police station, they took my great finds, did a check and a month later called and told me to come get my junk :P. Huff said!!!!!!!

Well its a beautiful day, thankful we do have these days, with all the sadness that life can bring we have to make each beautiful day count. It gives us hope that more like days will come again. Blessings to you and thank you for your visit.

Dance Recital

Posted in Family

Just got back tonight from our granddaughters recital, they are 5yrs and 4 yrs. This is the 4th recital for the oldest. They were so cute. They both did a great job. It is cute when those little dancers come out and do their number.

They had all ages, their so big that they use the campus here in the college town and its takes 2 evenings because of so many dancers. It worked out good that both girls had the same night, but that might change next year and we may be going both nights.

The theme was "As Seen ON TV" songs from different TV shows of now and from the past. Our girls did theme song on "Gilligans Island" and the theme song on "The Lawrence Welk Show" and they both together did "Party at Mickey's House from Mickey Mouse Club House". You remember any of those tunes?

The programs they handed out were made just like a TV guide. It was a long program, but all the dancers were having fun and just some beautiful dancing. Had my foot tappin on some of those numbers.

Every year they have the dads come up and do a number with their daughters, it is so funny. The first year we went the dads were dress like the Village People, OH my was that funny. Picture comes from the art work

While we were there it was storming and it just stop raining when everyone was leaving, perfect timing. We still have storms coming , not sure if there will be a T-ball game in the morning or not. I have to run first and pay for my spot at the farmers market in the morning. I won't start that until a couple of weeks , but I will have a guaranteed spot.

Looks like I'll be picking peas this weekend, and dressing out the rest of the Cornish X. It will be nice to have a break from taking care of them. They are messy. And speaking of messy, my house. I need a good day just to clean up things around here. With the garden pretty much planted, I need to get some inside stuff done. Before it is full blast with picking and canning.

I'll try and get some more garden pictures in my photos this weekend too.

I'm going to read some blogs and sites, learn some more good stuff and then listen to the rain as I fall asleep.

All have a great weekend, thanks for dropping by

Blessings
linda
