The fabric for this shirt came to me via my sister,
Moey. Where she got it, I do not know, although I assume she bought it at a thrift store at some point. It was obviously once a garment of some kind, although it had already been disassembled by the time I got to it (for which I am thankful, as pulling apart clothing is not my favorite thing to do, by any means).
This was an interesting challenge for me: somehow I had to fit all the pieces for my pattern inside the already-cut pieces of fabric on hand. It was a little tricky, as some of the original pieces were small, whereas maternity pattern pieces tend to be...larger! ;-) But I managed, and I am happy enough with the results.
My shirt did end up with some seams in interesting places -- the bodice back and front, and the skirt back, now have center seams where in the original pattern they are each one piece. One of the sleeves was also put together from two pieces. Oh, and there are a couple of extraneous button-holes left over from the original garment, too. Thankfully the busy, bright red paisley fabric tends to make these little blips less noticeable, and at any rate I am glad they are there because they remind me what I started with. :-)
And so, without further ado, photos of the front and back of the shirt in question:
