This is my last post here

I have a new blog here.  “The Silver Paw” is going to be retired, and “CityGirlCountryLife” is where I will continue with the saga of my life in the country.  The blogs look pretty much identical, and in time, nobody will even know there was a change.  Farewell to the first chapter of my blogging experience, and hello to chapter 2!!

New Blog

Filed under: UncategorizedKristy in WA @ 1:16 pm and

I’ve been thinking about this for some time, and it seems that now is a great time to make some changes.  When I started blogging here, I had no idea what to call my blog, so I just used a name that was similar to our website name.  “The Silver Paw” really doesn’t say anything about me, and I didn’t really like it, so I changed the title of my blog to “City Girl Country Life”, which I really like.  The problem is that the new title doesn’t match the blog address, so I am finally going to just start over with a new blog under the new title, “CityGirlCountryLife”, and have a matching address to go with it.  This process will take some time, but once complete, I will be happy to know that everything matches properly.   Hmmm, I wonder what this says about me!  I’ll post the new address here, so anyone wanting to continue with my blog can find the new one.

Windstorm

Filed under: Nature,UncategorizedKristy in WA @ 12:58 pm and

We had a very windy day at the beginning of May, and it blew over our bird tree.  We are thankful it didn’t land on the house, but sorry because it was the tree nearest our house that we hung the bird feeders in.  The tree also landed squarely on our birdbath and cracked it, and chipped off a few large pieces.  We think we might be able to glue those back on and set up the birdbath once again for our little flying friends.  We have been studying birds this year for science in homeschool, so have been trying to encourage as many birds as we can to eat in our yard.  It has been fun to watch them.

We’ll have to try to figure out a way to lure them close to us now that the tree is gone.

It just simply split it right down the middle, about 4 feet from the ground.

Banana Bread

Filed under: Food and CookingKristy in WA @ 12:36 pm and

This is really old news, but I did some baking a few weeks ago, and meant to blog about it as it happened.  This bread is long gone, but it was sure good!

It worked!  It posted in the place I wanted it to post!   I am determined to figure out this new format!!

Tiny Love Notes Card Set

This will be an experimental post, just to see if I can figure out how to load a photo, write some text, and simply just keep going on this blog.  Homestead blogger changed their entire format, and for a few days the blog was simply GONE!  I was a sickening feeling, but it’s all back now, but with a totally different look.  The best change, as far as I can tell right now, is that when someone leaves a comment, I can reply to that comment.  I don’t know if it will notify them, though it would be really nice if it would.

I am just noticing that it does seem that my categories are intact–good.  I will now try and post a photo!  I made some cards the other night and they turned out really cute!  I have them listed on Etsy, and we’ll see what happens!

My picture loaded to the top of my post, even though I wanted it at the bottom.  If anyone has any advice, please leave a comment!  Ok, going to push the “Publish” button!
