I have labored on Labor Day! Yes, things have been quite busy here at the Beale Bungalow this beautiful day of my favorite month of the year--September. Donnie and I have been trying to train our son about having a good work ethic all summer. Today was no different! Seth painted our backyard shed.
It sure looked very nice when he got through! He even told Donnie that sometimes "work can be fun!" Lessoned learned--for today. I worked outside this morning. I dumped all my flower pots dirt into our wheelbarrow-added some peat moss and some flower starter and put the lovely dirt back into my pots. Now, these pots are all ready for some fall time planting.
I enjoyed working with my hands and in my bare feet! After all the outside weeding, watering and composting-it was time to move inside. I dusted, vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom, did some laundry, changed my bedroom comforter from spring/summer to winter/fall.
Spring/Summer
Fall/Winter So, the house looks nice, the outside shed looks nice, the inside looks nice and supper was on the stove--Chicken Tostada Pie with Blackbeans and topped with sour cream! Yummy! It was good and Donnie's lunch was packed and the kitchen cleaned! Our neighbor, Keith, got a new deer hunting stand and put it up this evening. Then he decided to teach Seth some deer hunting skills. The most important lesson was to be quiet while in the woods. Well, for my talker--that was a hard lesson to learn! Anyway, Seth, who is afaid of heights climbed to the top of deer stand and started playing like he was actually hunting. I will try to get a picture of this tomorrow and post it--he looks really small way up there! Yikes! (He is my baby ya' know.) Now, everyone is getting showers and getting to bed. Donnie has to return to work tomorrow, and Seth and I start school. I sure hope you enjoyed your Labor Day as much as I did. God Bless!! |
