What a wonderfull surprise we've had all morning and into this afternoon - 10 (5 pair) of Hooded Mergansers that have finally discovered our pond.  CLICK HERE to read about this breed of marsh duck.

All the cats have been mystified by our new visitors all floating out in the middle of the pond.  They aren't quite sure what to make of them and can't understand why these little feathered floating happy meals won't come ashore.
