What a wonderful morning to awaken to - I truly believe that yester-years' mornings that began each day with sunrise, gave a much better way to start the day. The ever so gentle morning light awoke me about 6:30 this morning and I could already hear the chickens coming out and beginning their day's routine. I finally got out of bed around 7:30ish and made coffee in the quiet of the house. Our dogs had to stretch their vocal cords and I stuck my head out to see if there was anything to it ~ I couldn't help but smile when I opened the back door and felt the coolness of this May morning woven with the sweet fragrance of the wild sweet shrub and honey suckle that has just begun to bloom here at the Farm. I still have the house to myself as I read my morning email and news and busily type here. As I enjoy this quiet morning, I let my sons sleep in and dream - they are growing and have such a short span of sleep in time. Where does the time go? Why are we so consumed with time? Many a day ~ a morning, an evening ~ since our move to our big tin roof on the dirt road, I feel we have recaptured time and resist the race so many seem bound to keep up with. I think I'll end here and move to the back porch to enjoy my coffee and absorb the sounds and smells of this May morning. hkj
