New Feelin' Feminine Site

04:03, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 .. 0 comments .. Link
Jocelyn from "A Pondering Heart" blog has made a site for Feelin' Feminine. I love this site. I think it's a great way to get the meassage that God wants to give all the girls about dressing modest.

You can also check out the "Simple Women's Daybook", "Saturday Psalm and Praise", "Thankful Thursday", and "Homemaker-In-Training", post comments, and sign the petition. The petition is just saying that you promise to help challenge all girls to dress feminine, showing the true beauty that God has created for us in the first place when He created earth.

Also, jump on over there and you can grab buttons and put them on your blog. They are another great way to get the word out to everyone. I think I might do that also.

Jocelyn has put her heart in this site.

Great job Jocelyn!

Praying to God

04:19, Tuesday, August 12, 2008 .. 2 comments .. Link
Did you know you can pray to God like you're talking to your friend? I did but I didn't know how to. Until I found this book called "Girl talk with God." Susie Shellenberger is the author. She's also the editor of Brio magazine.

This book is not like any other book. It does have chapters, but the chapters are drama scripts. In the beginning and end of each chapter has a paragraph or two of what Susie thinks and says about each chapter. In the scripts there's a girl, the same age as all of us, talking to God.

But this girl talks to God about everyday stuff - from becoming a Christian, to divorce, to sex, to having a boyfriend, to marriage. But she talks to God like she's talking to a friend. Every now and then God will tell her to look up a certain verse in the Bible. She won't know where she last left her Bible. So God will tell her where her Bible is.

Have you ever ran over a passage and not know what it meant? In this book it tells you what some important verses mean.

This book has inspired me to pray to God like I'm talking to a friend.

A little about the author:

Susie Shellenberger is the editor of Brio magazine, Focus on the Family's monthly publication for teen girls. Susie's a former high-school drama teacher and youth pastor. She also co-hosts Focus on the Family's weekly talk-radio show for teens: Life on the Edge: Live! Susie has written twenty-eight books and travels as a national speaker.

Peanut Butter Cookies

04:16, Tuesday, August 12, 2008 .. Posted in What's cookin' ? .. 2 comments .. Link
My mom and I made these cookies Monday night. We were looking through our recipes and found this. It was a big hit. Daddy loves peanut butter cookies.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium sized bowl, combine 1 egg, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup peanut butter. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Plop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto a cookie sheet(about walnut-size dollops). Bake for about 12 minutes, or until brown. Cookies will still be soft when done(until cooled). Eat when cooled, will be very moist inside(YUM!).

Variation: For a twist...as cookies come out of oven press Hershey's kiss in middle of each cookie.

If you did something a little different to this recipe, I would love to hear from you.

DISCLAIMER: Mom doesn't remember where she got this recipe from, but she said it was probably from someone's blog. If you know where it originated, let me know

Kittens

We found these 4-week-old kittens that we now taking care of the kittens. They've gotten used to people. Right now they're eating Royal Canin Feline Health  from PetSmart, which is hard but when it touches liquid it turns soft. We were feeding them kitten formula, but have pretty much weaned them off it. When I pick the ktiten food package up they start crying like crazy.

The orange one is named Pumpkin. The sandy colored one is named Sonora like the desert.

Adam, 5, will pick them the kittens up and cuddle them. They love to play now. They'll play with the thier kitten toys or anything they can get their little paws on. Sometimes I'll come into my parents room and talk to my mom. I won't be doing anything, just sitting on the floor criss-crossed. The kittens will just climb into my lap and play in my lap like a playpen. Sometimes they miss each other and they'll end up biting or scratching me.

They're using the litter pan great now. They were shut up in my Momma's bathroom. Now Momma is letting them have free reign over her bedroom. Every now and then my parents let the dogs in so the kitties will get used to them. Our gray dog, Leo, would play with the cats. The black dog Baby will just stalk them. She is a hunting dog so we have to keep a close eye on her.

Did I make you jealous?
