Saturday Psalm & Praise
Saturday Psalm & Praise

Jacque at Seeking Rest in the Ancient Paths, has created this new meme straight from her heart. I really love this idea and plan to participate. I think it will help prepare my own heart for worship tomorrow. I chose this song today because it was on my heart this morning and I sang it as I worked around the house. This is truly one of my favorite prayers to sing.
>>>>>**<<<<<Be Thou My Vision
Be thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my my high Tower;
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.
Riches I need not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always;
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

I also wanted to share this with you. My mom called me today in tears. She said she had something to share with me…something we should never take for granted. Today is six months to the day since she had her massive brain bleed. This was also the first day she was able to get on her knees to pray. It was too painful up until now, and she didn’t have the strength. In rehab, they would try to have her crawl, but even getting down onto the floor was impossible.
She lives with a mentally ill husband who has been so cruel to her and our family since her stroke. I know, it’s very hard to believe that someone could be abusive to a person in a wheelchair, but indeed, he was, and has continued to get more so. He mocks us and worse, he mocks God.
We are always before the Lord asking him to move on Mom’s behalf and for the sake of our family. So many of the Psalms comfort us and feel as though they have been written specifically for our situation. Today, Mom could get down on her own knees before the Lord. Please don’t ever take such a simple, but powerful act for granted. You know, it always amazes me what truly beautiful things come from some of the worst and most painful trials in our lives.
