Life's Journey

• Monday, August 4, 2008 - Monday's Happenings

This is the day that the Lord has made..... Let us rejoice and be glad in it  ! ! !

Monday is one of those days you have mixed emotions about.  Its the start of a brand new week.  Fresh to start over from the last week, however good or bad it was.  But also Monday can be ugggg ! !  Back to work.  A lot of time I have dreaded Monday.  But lately God has dropped in my Spirit the above verse.  Whatever day it is we should rejoice.  Weather its a bad day where everything goes wrong or one of those few perfect days where we are on cloud 9 God is in control.  Just this wonderful knowledge alone should send us rejoicing.

Today we are continuing with school.  Its been good to be back into the routine.  Summer break, as good as it is, brings us into chaos sometimes because of a lack of structure.  To answer a question from MissBee about our sonlight curriculum, we are currently using Core K for my 5 and 6 year old. ( of course my 4 year old is 'doing school too' ).  They are all enjoying it so much.  I think their favorite part is the read alouds.  For their math they are using Math u See .  Ive just started using it this year and absolutely love it.  We are also using the Eastern Hemisphere with my 10 and 13 year old.  I think this is just the best Ive ever seen.  Im already enjoying it so very much as are the kiddos.  My daughter is using the Exploring Creation with General Science from Apologia.  And they are also using Math u see.  My daughter is using the Math U See Algebra.  I would absolutely recommend this to everyone.

Tonight is our women's Bible study.  We are going to serve a meal at the homeless shelter.  Ive never done this but Im really looking forward to helping out.  Sometimes living our own daily lives its easy to forget so many people dont even have a home .

On another note........ Dont you just love how God prepares you for things ahead of time.  Over the last few weeks while in my Bible time I keep thinking about the verse 'Be anxious for nothing......' It has just repeatedly came to my mind while going about my daily going ons.  Well, the other night my hubby got online to check on the prices of his books for this semester.  They are usually around $400 altogether but this time its going to be $700.  We have $400 put back but in a few weeks we have to come up with the additional $300.  He will get his grant, scholarship, and student loan but you dont receive those till September, after school starts.  Im sure all of you know how difficult that amount is in a short time period.  But Im trying to remember what God has been speaking to me and having faith in Him.  Its reassuring to know that God knows ahead of time what we will be needing and He never fails to provide.  So as best as I can I am not going to be anxious over something so little as three hundred dollars seeing  that my Lord owns the earth and everything in it and can does the miraculous.

Hope everyone has a very blessed day.

I used to dread Mondays in the worst way about 3 years ago, because it meant I had to go back to work in the Accounting office at my job. It was a good job, I loved my co-workers, and I loved the challangin, fast paced, always changing job I had. What I could take anymore was the stress in the office, mainly from an overstressed superviser, and the long hours. I was working 65 hours on a slow week, and although the overtime was nice on my paycheck, I was newly married and I never go to see him!

I am much more comfortable with my life now, as SAHM to our 2 year old, Noah. I look forward to the weekends, but I look forward to Monday and the end of good busy hectic weekend and getting back to our normal schedule as well! LOL

I will be praying for you on the situation with coming up with more money on your hubby's school books. God will provide!!!!

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
