About Me:
I am a wife to my wonderful husband. We share the responsibility of taking care of the many animals on our farm. We raise Texel sheep, and chickens for meat and eggs. We have a llama to protect the sheep and three dogs and two cats we love very, very much. We are striving for a simple life. We want to be able to provide ourselves with most of the items we need to survive; only buying things when absolutely necessary. We strive to raise and grow as much of our food as possible or buy it locally and/or organic if we are unable to grow it ourselves. I cook from scratch, make my own cheese, and make my own non-toxic cleaning products. I'm also (slowly)teaching myself to knit, crochet, and sew. We hope to someday leave the workforce and spend the rest of our lives working for ourselves on our homestead. Please join me on our journey home!

 Longing for a simple life... | 181 entries, 198 comments | | We are on the road to simplicity! We are paying down debt and simplifying our lives. We are also looking for ways to take our home off-grid. My husband and I have never really lived a life of sacrifice but have both decided we are willing to sacrifice now to reach our goal. I want to stay home and play a more active roll in our animals lives, our garden, and our home. The support I have gotten from my husband is unbelievable. Each year we get a little closer to reaching our goal. |
