| Life is full of little pleasures. Filled with things that can bring smiles to your face. These little things can so easily be overlooked from our busy lives. My husband and I have always appreciated God’s creation and have tried to pass it to our children. Simple things we would do like when a sunset was beautiful, we'd stop what we were doing and yell for the children to come look. If a sunrise was beautiful and the children were still in bed we’d wake them so they could see the glory of God’s creation. One time when on youngest son was only 3, he was taking a bath. It had just got through raining and I walked out to the kitchen for a second and saw a beautiful double rainbow. I rain into the bathroom, pulling him out of the bathtub, soap and all, threw a towel around him and ran him to the window. He’s now 11 and he still remembers that. He was telling someone a couple months ago how Momma one day had pulled him out of the tub to see a rainbow. That person said somewhat confused “well why would she do that?” My son’s response “because it was beautiful and Momma wanted to share it”.
Today often, my children, even my 16 soon to be 17 year old will see a sky line, a bird, a sunset or sunrise, a leaf of dazzling color or even a cloud and call for me and my husband to share in the moment. Sometimes they call us to share a moment of amusement from an animal or even their selves.
If you don’t stop and look for the beauty that God puts all around us or brings our way it will pass you by and you will miss life’s little pleasures. Next time you see a flower newly opened, a bird gathered with its mate or a sunrise that makes the sky explode, stop and give God glory and find someone to share it with.
God’s blessing to you,
Lea
