Wonderful Autumn days...

The past couple of days have been really nice.  Nothing overly special.. but I think I am just so happy that I am feeling better again.. though today I slept ALL day.. I have got to get myself straightened around.  *sigh*  I got up and took a shower and laid back down on the bed and fell asleep.  Geez.  Well, maybe my body needed it, I dunno.

Yesterday I made a big pot of chili.  I was half afraid to, because of my digestive problems lately, but it sounded so good.. and it was raining and it is just such comfort food.  So I did.. and it tasted so good.  I only have a little bit left.  Courtney and I can go thru some chili.  LOL  Todd won't eat it.  Oh well.

It is pouring down rain...  I kind of wish it would have done all this raining when it was warmer.. so our fields would have had a bit more of a chance to grow.. well, not just ours.. everyone's.  Hay is so expensive this year.  We are currently only feeding one bale to 8 horses.. as there is still grass, but once the grass is completely dead and there is snow on the ground, I am going to have to up that in a big way.  I really wanted to sell some horses.. but it didn't happen.  I must get rid of some in the spring.  Maybe prices will be better then.  I just can't GIVE them away.. and with prices right now.. it is definitely a buyers market.

I talked to Kaitlyn a little bit today.. she is over at Dee's.. she goes to take her Driver's test again tomorrow.. she failed it the first time.. she rolled thru a stop sign!!  I asked her, What were you thinking?!?  lol  She said the instructor just laughed.  Geez.  I told her to practice STOPPING before tomorrow.. so we shall see.  She is supposed to call me and let me know how she did.

I will probably be going into town tomorrow.  Payday.  I need to get groceries.  Bleh, Gas here is up to 3.09 a gallon.. at least that is what it was the other night when I went in town to get pizza.  It will go up before Thanksgiving I am sure.  It makes me so mad.  But, what can you do?

Oh, I also need to put some of the wedding pics on a disc while I am thinking of it.. so I can get some made at WalMart to send with the announcements.. to those who were unable to come to the ceremony.

We are completely out of wood.  We heat solely with wood.  We were supposed to get a load today between noon and 1 and the guy never showed up.  I called him around 4:30 or so and talked to his wife.  She said his saw broke down.  =/  Which is fine.. BUT, he told my husband the wood was already cut.  So either he is lying about the wood being cut and dry or they were lying about the saw.  Either way, I left her my number and she was supposed to have her husband call me back.. I haven't heard a word.  So be it.  I don't want wet wood.  I need something I can burn NOW.  Thank God it has been warm enough the past few days to go without a fire.  But I don't know how long my luck will hold out.

I have been spending way too much time online.. and on Subeta.  *sigh*  I have really let my housework go lately.  I did get several loads of laundry done tonight.. with more still going now.  But I really need to clean.  And here it is midnight and I am bright eyed and bushy tailed.  I HAVE to get up a decent hour tomorrow.. I need to call the Dr. and see if I can get her in.. she has a terrible sore throat.. it is keeping her up at night. I am praying it is just irritated from her sinuses draining and that it isn't Strep.

Well, I should go.  I need to work on that disc and switch over some more laundry yet.  I have no idea what time I will make it to bed tonight.  Hubby is working nights, won't be home til about 7 a.m.

Saturday, November 17 - We heat solely with wood, too!

Maybe you noticed that post on my blog..anyway, thanks for your comments! My dh cuts all of our own wood from a friend's wooded property. I added you to my friends so I can look around here when I have time:-) My married dd showed her horse when she was in 4-H, too. My younger kids do goats and chickens. I'm so sorry about you losing your goats! Was it coyotes? I've been worried, because I hear them howling at night, and the deer keep tearing our electric fencing down! I have a beloved niece named Courtney...they live in OH, too. We're going to visit next week:-)

~About Me and My Blog~

This is where I come to reflect on my life and weigh how I am doing in regard to the goals I have for myself. Some such goals are to have a closer walk with my Lord and Savior, work on making my marriage stronger, keep a well run home and make healthier living choices for me and my family. We are usually quite busy in the summer time showing our horses and my daughter is a cheerleader, not to mention working outside around here and gardening. I like the idea of growing our own food and canning it, but I have never tried it. I would love to learn. Winter time will slow down some and we spend more time on inside activities such as crafts, stamping and scrapbooking. I also want to do some baking this year.. and maybe attempt some Strawberry Freezer Jam with my daughter.
