of babies!   I’m glad everyone was here to help deliver!

There was a little stress at the begining.  I was afraid that the head was not going to come out.  But a few contractions and a good pull, out they came.   Cleaning them off and getting them to nurse right away.

we had two buck again this year from Belle.

“Dr. D’  came down the next morning bringing a dose of vitamins for everyone.   The second little one had a hard time getting up and walking.  She said not to worry, it is common for babies to have weak knees when they are born.  Later, she gave me a baby bottle to collect some of Belle’s milk to put in the fridge.  It will come in handy if she isn’t making quite enough for both.  We don’t want to go through that again!

The price to pay

I had been working hard to clear this area this last spring.   I tried planting daylillies as an outline, pulling weeds with good intention of keeping this area up.  There is an old shallow well there (we keep it covered with an old metal table top for safety reasons right  now).  I would like to build it up even though it is unusable.   It almost never has water in it, and it looked like someone tried filling it in with junk a long time ago.  It is only 4′ deep, but it is still neat.

Well, I let it get over grown and decided to clear it out again this past weekend.

This is one area that I planted a snowball bush.  I think it will look nice in the next few years when it sets root.

This became my new best friend.  It is good for poison ivy.   Luckily we have it everywhere here.     Poison ivy usually doesn’t bother me that bad, but this time I have it even under my…NOSE!    waaaaaa  Do you know how hard it is not to touch your nose????

I’d like to start doing something over here.

Becky tried really hard to clean it up.  I was hoping after Tom pulled the dead trees out of there and the sun came in,  that the wild ducks would start coming in and cleaning up all the greens.   When we had ducks it was pretty clean but domesticated ducks tend to be dinner for the wild life.

After seeing my breath hanging clothes out the end of last week, this week is starting out hot and humid.

I took a walk out to the road to see if I could find Ahes, our fat, gray, inside kitty that always hung around under the pines.  He never went far.   He has been gone four  days now.  He has never missed dinner.  Ever.   Well, all I saw were the turkeys out milling around.

Cyber school started Monday for Jess.   O.k., call me dumb, but I don’t think you are suppose to be on 9 hours!  We were fighting with the program only to find out that they changed it the first day!  What we thought would give us problems wasn’t a problem at all, and what was suppose to be easy direction was foul.    It can only get better, right?

All from the garden.  It better hit a hot streak so that everything can finish ripening.  I could see my breath this last week in the morning when I was hanging out the clothes.

No where to go

Waking up to a full moon  peeking through the treetops before the sun makes it’s appearance. A good day.  No where to go. That is what I said on Sunday night.  Then there it was, Monday morning. I have run every day since.   Unplanned.  One day is was for feed, the next to drop of one of the girls at Grandma and Grandpas house.  Then back to trade girls.  Everyone needs a turn before school starts.   I found that Jess missed an online “Meet the Teacher” day all ready.  I had no  notification of it.   Great.  Now we have to go back into town today so we know how to use her programs for the computer.

Hey, at least Mr. Whiskers can enjoy a relaxing day in the shade.

He is not being

fierce, he is extending a HUGE yawn!

Remember the mama turtle laying eggs back in June?   Well, this week Jess found the turtles hatching.   She found 10 of them!   We lost only one last night, and Tom decided it was a good time to set them on the bank of the pond.   He set them near a dead tree stump that  was partially in the water.  That way they had some shelter, or could venture into the water.   One jumped right in!   I hope the do o.k.   You shouldn’t mess with nature!

Christmas Eve!

By the skies yesterday around 1:00 p.m.  you might guess that fall was setting in. It may have been a cool 70,  but it felt good to me after all the heat .

Vegetables are coming in slow, but they are coming.  These are the complete crop of carrots from our garden.  I bet we would have had more if Bob hadn’t decided to crawl up in the raised bed when I first dropped the seeds!   Good job, Bob!  We had them for dinner last night with oven baked beef, potatoes, and zucchini from the garden.  Yum!

Today with it cool again, I have a small list to do outside before it rains again.  I’d like to get out there and weed between the peppers and the strawberries.   That is the only place I didn’t get to last time.  To get ends tied up before school starts would be great.   Jess starts the new adventure in Cyber Schooling this year and so the date is definite and begins on Monday.   No slacking in time this year!  I have to get the lesson planner written out for Becky yet too so she knows what she is to be doing every day.

Tommy has been in and out  by himself and with friends.  He has the goal of being in his own place by the end of next week.   Better get a move on, the college kids are starting back!

I don’t hear from Ken very often, so it was a nice surprise to see him on Sunday.   He came to church for the second service.   We had already been to first service as Tom and I had prayer team that morning.  It was after Sunday School time that we happened to catch him. He has been attending a church about 10 miles up the road with a friend of his, but decided to drive on out this way for service. Thought maybe he would have the time to stop out since he was out this far, but I guess not.  Maybe another time soon.
