Well, Thank you Lord! A perfectly gorgeous day!
I did everything on my list except for the mowing. That will have to wait till tomorrow. I went to town at 9 this morning and was back at 10:30. I had a list. I had my coupons. I meant business. Total groceries before coupons was about $35.00 - after the coupons, $17.49. I did pretty good!
I bagged three hefty trash bags of leaf mold.
I planted my evergreens for a wind-break.
I left to go to the springhouse and I noticed some water in a stream. It seemed odd because that stream is usually dry all summer. So I went to investigate. Upstream I found water bubbling out from some rocks. I moved some of the rocks and the water increased. It would be so nice to have that stream flowing again down near the house!
After that, I headed up to the springhouse. What a hike! It's about a half mile up the mountain. The water in there was really low and the filter had some debris in there. I cleaned out at the back of the springhouse where the water flows in and the flow increased a lot. Then I noticed it. A hole in the concrete at the opposite end of the springhouse! I plugged it up with some stones to at least slow down the flow until I can do a good fix. But this explains why the water has been so low lately.
I hiked back down and did some mowing but wasn't able to finish because I decided to hike back up to the springhouse and see how full it was. It was really full! Praise God!
So I did pretty well with my list today. Tomorrow I will get a cord of wood delivered. I'll do my mowing after work and then start stacking. Then Tuesday or Wednesday we will tackle the spring problem.
