Trying Simple Life in Taiwan

August 2........our baby is one month old today, well, 30 days old. Dh is going by the July3 - August 3 to say one month old. In Chinese/Taiwan tradition, on the one month date, there is a special meal to celebrate. Technically mom and baby are now allowed out of confinement. BUT being the American that I am.....we have been out and about a week. I did do nothing for about 3 weeks. Confinement period is a time when mom is not supposed to do ANYTHING......not even bathe..............but I don't go that far....EW!!! I did have some traditional chicken and ginger soups and fish soups and even pig knuckle and peanut soup.

I discovered that in the Chinese tradition, it seems alot of protein and liquids are given during the month, and Chinese medicine....but i can't handle the traditional chinese medicine.......the smell kills me!!LOL!!

i haven't tried the skillet biscuits.............but i am dying for my oven to be fixed............not much is going on.......it is hot and humid here and we do have a lot to do ministry wise.........well........just a smallish update that's all...........maybe i'll write more another time...........off to read the blogs of everyone else and see how they are doing!
