My Heart's Desire

My little prayer warrior!

I have the most amazing son! He is truly a miracle from God! We went to the hospital the other day to sit with our friends who's 5mo old son was having open heart surgery. Nathaniel (8) and Ezekiel (6) went with me, as DH was working a double shift. Needless to say it was a very loooong day. We were blessed with updates from his cardiologist and a surgical nurse every 30-45 minutes. As we sat, munching on bagels Nathaniel goes to the father and says we need to pray.  The father says of course, do you want to pray for our food. Nathaniel gave him a really puzzled look....and then looked at me. I asked him what he wanted to pray for and he said baby Jonathan! So we all stopped what we were doing and Nathaniel prayed and prayed and prayed! His prayers were sensative, tenderhearted, and right on the money. He prayed for wisdom for the doctors and nurses, and for his mom and dad not to be worried and to have peace....etc. He continued to ask to pray after each visit from the doctor or nurse. Each time tuning in to what was going on in surgery. He has prayed multiple times here at home over the last few days. We returned for a visit today and we arrived just at the right time. He had just been intubated again and given paralytic drugs to help him not to fight the respirator. Mom and Dad were obviously beat and worried. Nathaniel immediately suggested prayer. He also prayed for all the other kids in children's hospital and their moms and dads too! What a blessing and wonderful example he has been to others over the last few days. I have always known God would use my special needs child for big things on this earth...to bring Him Glory....It is such a joy to see it happening at such a young age! Lord continue to cultivate his heart, keep it tender and always open to your leading. May he always bring you glory!
