May 2, 2007 - From USA Today
I'm glad to see that CCD is getting more and more national attention. Here is the latest from USA Today.
Would you be surprised to know that just two weeks ago, significant insiders at the USDA (in Washington DC) had not even heard of Colony Collapse Disorder? I was happy to foward several articles to bring them up to speed.
Scary.

I hope more and more people are taking this seriously!
I am happy to say that I will know Sat if we will be able to get our first hive.

even had an article on their front page last night about it. I didn't realize the magnitude of the issue, and the far reaching implications. I guess they have big wig experts from Europe and Brazil in DC working on this now.

Hi, Harriette. I'm a fellow beekeeper (just a couple of months into it) and I know right where the gnatline is. Thankfully I'm just above it right at I-20. I was just wondering if you happened to have Keith Delaplane's book Honeybees and Beekeeping: A Year in the Life of an Apiary. He's the head entomologist at UGA (and a friend of ours). It's a great resource! Blessings on your venture!
