Well Christmas is over. Sad in a way,as we get together as a family and I never want to part even though my kids live within miles of me. Seems there is never enough time for a good visit except occasions like this. Allen my DH is back at work today. Poor guy it is a pressure cooker at work with people being written up for the littlest infraction and lay offs every where. We are close to retirement, and I do mean very close, and sometimes I wonder if the couple of dollars more in the retirement check would be worth it. We have 80 acres that we hope to retire on soon. We both have old tractors that were our grandfathers and are looking forward to planting a larger garden than we have now. We are hoping to make ourselves as sufficient as possible. Raising a beef cow and planting the garden. Maybe I am trying to recapture what I felt as a child when I would go to my grandparents ranch. Life wasn't always easy but it seemed to take on a slower pace and neighbors were willing to help out and you knew everyone in that little town and they knew you. I am blessed the neighborhood that I live in now is in the city but we all know and watch out for each other. We had a wonderful time at Christmas, all the grandkids were there and they all made out in the loot department. We have not forgotten what the celebration is all about though... and thank God that he gave his only son to wash away our sins and how thankful we are for that . Well I must get things put away and write thank you's . God Bless.
