Paint, stamps, and stories

We have had a busy week of school and are winding down with only a few weeks left. All this week the boys have been bugging me to paint with these foam stampers that we have. Finally Thursday, I told them they could on one condition...They had to write a story to go with it. They were very eager to get started and create their story with the set of stamps we had. I must say it was probably one of the best writing assignments we have done in months. They were so focused and creative. It was by far the best writing that my 5 year old had done all year. He worked so hard sounding everything out and using his spaces between words. I was impressed that he really only got a few words misspelled. He is growing leaps and bounds! My daughter was "a sap" ,as the DH put it, and wrote a love story about two people meeting, getting married, and living happily ever after. She's almost nine, I guess those things are bound to start happening. I found out that my four year old has quite the imagination. He created a picture and dictated his story to me. I was about a magical forest where the trees, leaves and apples could talk and how they made friends with the people. He had me going and going.... I almost needed another page! LOL! Well I really must keep it short....the kids are all sleeping soundly, the hubby is working in the garage, and I have a sink full of dishes calling my name. Maybe next post I can tell you about the cool educational event we attended on Friday, complete with pictures.

OH how fun to be with the little ones doing projects. I can imagine how eager they were to create. I just wish adults could be as joyful and focused on playing. Hehe! I enjoyed your post. Have a blessed weekend! rilda *U*

About Me

I am a mother of three. I desire to grow closer with the Lord and raise children who love and honor Him. Knowing I am a work in progress, I have decided to start this blog to keep in touch with family and friend from a far and perhaps meet some new ones who can help me in this journey of life.
