Lancaster is about a 20 minute drive from me. It is very pretty and very nice to visit but it isn't very cheap. It is a tourest attraction, especially this time of year so I can't say for sure that you will find things cheap.
I am going to send you a few links about what to see and do in Lancaster and where you can eat. Also a big thing in Lancaster is Dutch Wonderland. It is an amusement park. It is very nice. I'm not sure how much it is though. I know after a certain time in the day, like 4 or 5 in the afternoon, the rates are cut in half. This year they have a new Thomas The Train attraction.
