I can't believe how much life has changed since my last entry here. We are now expecting our 4th child!!! Soon too! Due to some past problems I am having a scheduled C-section on January 17th, 26 days and counting. According to the ultrasound we are expecting a little girl, however I won't be completely sure until she is here. lol We are planning on naming her Audrey Lena, Audrey after my Great Aunt and Lena after my grandmother. I look forward to getting into the swing of things here since I never really got started in the first place. :) Getting stuck in the mud

Last night Lee and I decided to take the kids fishing. His cousins pond is a perfect place to go because it's in the middle of a big field and it's private land so we can take the dogs and not have to worry about disturbing others. So as we are driving acrossed the field all of the sudden..slurp..and my truck is stuck in the mud! Lee put it in 4 wheel drive but it was to late, it was already buried and frankly it wouldn't have helped us even to be in 4x4 in the beginning because it was just to wet. Luckily the cell phone worked so we called his gram who came and got me at the bottom of the field and brought me home to get Lee's truck. I drove it back and he pulled the other truck out. I am getting entirely to much practice these days either pulling things out or driving things while he is pulling me! We did end up having a great time fishing though, that pond is so full of sunfish that the kids were pulling fish out every 2 minutes, the ended up catching 17. We brought them home and filleted them, it took Lee forever. I got out of it because I was cooking supper. LOL
This morning when when Leanna and I went out to milk the goat all was well until Leanna went to put her back. Two of my dogs got in a mock battle which spooked the goat so she ran which was okay because she couldn't get out of the shed anyway however the door to the goat pen was open and the bratty little pygmy I have in there to keep her company escaped. My other goats are sweet as pie but this one runs like crazy if anyone tries to get near her and she is spry enough that she jumped over the divider and was out of the shed. She was trying to get back in the big goat pasture and was about to get her head stuck so I tried to get my trusty border collie to help me catch the goat. Usually she does a great job but today, not so..she decided it would be much more fun to herd the horse while Leanna and I chased the doe around. LOL Finally I called Lee for help and we caught her. What a comical sight we must have been though. I have to get the kids ready for a T-Ball game so I better get on the move. She's here!

My new goat is here, she's a lamancha/saanen. Her name is Angie and she is 2 years old. She's very sweet and I am VERY excited. She milks around 3/4 of a gallon a day, this is going to be so great for us. I can't wait until tonight to milk!!

I am so excited to have this blog. If nothing else just for me to look back on. My name is Mandy, I am 26 yeras old and married to my wonderful husband Lee. We have 3 children, Leanna who is 6, Isaac who is 5, and Eli who is 3. Right now I am in the process of really digging down deep and working on my relationship with the Lord. I love to wake up early but haven't been doing so much, the last few days I have been getting up around 5:00am and I'm loving it. It gives me so much more time, I can wake up and read my bible while drinking my coffee. What a feeling! I can't believe I have let myself slip away from God for so long. Today I am going to pick up my lamancha milking doe so hopefully no more store bought milk for our family. We will see how much she produces. I am still hoping that my nubian doe will freshen but I'm just not sure if she took this year. : / Time will tell but I'm definetly not holding my breath. I have to go for now but wanted to introduce myself, I hope to be here more often and get to know like minded women. :) |
