Our Curriculum for 2008-09
Last year, our first year of home schooling, I bought many books rarely sticking with one; tried online free curriculum from Ambleside Online, and just put things together that I found interesting as I went along. I even bought some curriculum from Sonlight (science) and from Christian Light Education (LA and Reading). At the end of the year, I asked Peanut what he enjoyed the most, and he replied CLE. So.....
This year I decided to spend less money on curriculum and more money on field trips and other outings, and I went with his preferred curriculum...CLE
For Bible, Math, Language Arts, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, and some of our Practical Skills lessons, we will be using CLE Level 5.
We started July 2nd, rounding out our summer sports camps--basketball, soccer, and baseball.
For French we are again using Rosetta Stone, and a grammar dictionary.
For P.E. he has done summer sports, and will downhill ski (I believe we will buy a season pass this year), swimming, outdoor work (such as the new cedar hedge we planted) and other things. We also bought a Nintendo Wii and we have already used it for morning break to get our blood flowing and minds working again.
So far things are advancing pretty much to schedule.
