Week End Happenings

It has been awhile since I posted. How is that for stating the obvious? Friday night we went to hear my daddy play and sing with his band. We had a good time. I love to share in that with my daddy. It just brings me back to a simpler time. Things used to be this way all the time. This is a great way to spend a Friday night. I also dance with my handsome husband there. They have this can up front on the stage. If you like the song you go up and put a little donation in the can while the singer is singing. The money goes to help the community center and the volanteer fire department. Whenever I am there my daddy has at least one person put money in his can during each song as my sweet husband always makes sure I have lots of dollar bills just for this occasion. This night, we had a car full of family and friend. Some songs my daddy had 4 people walk up while he was singing to put money in the can. The other band members started teasing him about it. It was great. Daddy even made an announcement about how great is was to have family support. My daddy went camping this week end with his horse and another man so he left quickly afterwards to go home and load up. He left about 10:00 pm headed out of town. Whew! Saturday I went through books and boxes. I am still going through things after moving over two years ago. It is emotionally difficult for me to go through some of those things so I just keep putting it off and do it as I want. It is a free country right! I even took some stuff to donate to the Faith Rescue Mission. Some homeschooler will think they struck gold when they see all those books. Saturday evening we rearranged the garage. Late Saturday night it was Wal-mart and Wendy's. We went to Wal-Mart for plastic Containers to organize my "stuff". We went to Wendy's to wreck our health. :) Sunday we worked in the country place. Sister and neice helped me clean inside the house while hubby burned mountains of brush and paper trash we had accumulated. We do not like to throw away paper in the trash to clog the world so he burns it. I am afraid of fire so I try not to watch. I brought home loads of bedding and pillows to wash today. I am sunning it for freshness. Last night we grilled ribs, chicken and hamburgers. I dropped two slabs of ribs on the concrete! OOPS! Today I am doing the usual Monday stuff plus the extra laundry. I am also preparing to go spend the night in the country. My sweet hubby is off work tommorrow because it is the Feast of Trumpets. It is wonderful to be able to celebrate Christ in all the feasts. I just love all those extra Sabbaths God gives us. There is no phone or internet or TV in the country. Theres just the birds and deer and other wildlife, including snakes. :)I love to hear all the bugs and frogs sing at night. Sometimes they are so loud you have to almost yell to be heard over them! And it is a new moon so the stars will be even more remarkable!!!! Can you tell I am excited!!!! I will have my cell phone. It does not pick up everywhere up there so leave a message if you need me. :) Cheers Everyone!! |
