making bread and cinnamon rolls, pictures

Posted in In my kitchen

Okay, here are some pictures of my bread and cinnamon roll making today.  For my cinnamon rolls, I just used half of my bread dough, rolled it out, spread butter, zulka and cinnamon on it, rolled it up and sliced it.

Here is my new to me kitchen aid mixer mixing the dough.  I know, you can't see the dough but I wanted to show you my mixer

Here are my loaf and my rolls rising:

Here are the finished products:

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Oh my gosh, those look fantastic. I never thought to make the rolls with my bread, duh, I always make them from a roll recipe. I will have to try that next time I bake bread.........Kitty

**Thank you! I also have a really good cinnamon roll recipe but it is alot more time consuming and messier, so I don't make them that often. These are so simple and they are still really tasty. My bread recipe has a sweet taste to it anyway, so it works wonderfully. Let me know if you try it and how yours turn out.

These look great! I love my Kitchen aid. I am still learning all the neat things it can do. I do have a question what is zulka?

I plan on doing bread today. I was out of wheat so we are all bread hungry.

**Thank you! Here is a description copied from a website: "Zulka is made in Mexico from 100% unrefined cane juice that is squeezed daily from fresh, ripe cane to produce a sugar that preserves the nutritional value of minerals while giving you an aromatic and great tasting sweetener." I am not sure it is as healthy as no sugar but I do feel it is healthier than the regular refined white sugar, so I am using it right now until I find something better. I find it in the hispanic section of my grocery store and Walgreens online carries it.

I use rapadura sugar which is basically the same thing you just described. Only not from Mexico. We order it in bulk and split it. It has a molasses or brown sugar taste is raw and un-refind also.

I posted the biscuit mix recipe on my blog. Guess we are playing blog tag today. Is there such a game?

Nola

**That sounds like sucanat, is it the same thing? I have that too but haven't gotten used to the molasses taste yet. Ok, I am headed back to your blog to check out the recipe. Blog tag, there is surely some kind of game like that :)

Those are beautiful!! I am soo wishing I had a mixer. That was a real blessing!
Blessings,
Andrea

**Thank you. You can do it without a mixer, I did for quite awhile and it isn't hard, just takes a little more time but it is good exercise for the arms! Yes, it was a true blessing.
