I made Lavender Lye Soap!

I made my very first batch of  lye soap by myself (well with Mom's supervision) last night. It was a lot of fun. It is lavender. I might post some pictures of how it turned out. I am going to try to make another batch this week, it will be Peppermint! That scent really wakes me up in the morning!

That is so wonderful that you made soap! Isn't homemade soap the greatest in the world! Sometime I'm going to try using egg whites for my shampoo... just haven't done it yet. Oh, and I've been meaning to thank you for your warning on baking soda and apple cider vinegar, the baking soda seems to be working just fine on my hair, but I have super curly hair, so maybe it is just helping to balance things out! Oh, and guess what! We now have 6 goats with more on the way! 3 does and 3 babies (wethers). Well, I better go, have a great day!

You need to try the goat milk soap now. I know you have the recipe for it, because I gave it to your Mother. It is a lot of fun to make.

I love to make soap, any kind of soap. I just like to make it, it makes me feel like I am a pioneer or a person struggling throught the Great Depression.

I am glad you got to make some.
