Ducks!
It's strange, the things that fall in your lap when you have a farm. I found out this morning that a neighbor of my grandparents is getting rid of six ducks and two chickens. Looks like I'll be getting ducks! Looks like my parents are getting chickens. I'm so excited about both. I am going to spend some time reading about ducks this morning before heading to my parents. I was hoping to get some ducks, but I wasn't expecting to until later in the year. One of my neighbors sells them. I will build housing for them apon my return. Come to think about it, I may not need to. I have a "duck" house, or something similar, on the farm, that should work nicely. Just a matter of moving it out near the stream.
Have a wonderful weekend, see you soon.
Peace,
Raymond

It is amazing. Back when we were on a small rented country property (Ihesitate to call it a farm, but we tried to) I was given rabbits, a buck and three doe, which I only bred once and then because we were moving, I ate them all. I also was given three purebred
Landrace pigs, because the farmer didn't want to mess with trying to save them from scours. We used Kaopectate and by golly, they lived. He also gave us one that he hadn't notched right away and in the bargain we had to take a rat terrier puppy. She was the smartest dog we ever had. As you progress, you will find many such deals. Good luck.

My brother & his family have always had ducks. They just roam around. They are in KS and have no water except a child's swimming pool. They don't really need so much water actually. They get eggs from them but not in winter. They don't even have a house for them; sometimes they stay in a shed. Jill

about ducks. Don't know if I could eat them nor the eggs but I like to look and watch them. I know when I lived at a lake we always had this momma duck and she always came to our property (knew it was her because of the injury he incurred years before). We just loved her and enjoyed having her around like a pet.
Blessings,
Sherry
