Pictures of my homestead pt 1 (hopefully)
I need new floppy disks. The ones I have are ten years old and
I'm having problems getting both the camera and the computer to
recognise them. I did get five pictures of my homestead and
chickens though.

This is a picture of my garden plot and clothesline. The green
building on the left is my garden shed. The buildings in the
distance are this edge of Birkenfeld. Beyond the fence is my
driveway and my north pasture. The little black tube next to the
fence contains the hose bibb for the garden.

Another picture that includes my garden. The row on the right,
next to the fence, is where I planted garlic, shallots, and onions for
overwintering. On the fence are my raspberries, which I need to
prune a bit. In the mid range, you can see my swamp (the long
grass on the left,) and the north end of my south pasture. In the
distance is an unnamed hill that was logged a few years back.
Between here and the hill is Neverstill road, the eastern boundry of my
property. It's just past the deciduous trees (mostly apples) and
the evergreen trees. The apples are mostly on my property,
although there are a few on the other side of the road.

This is a picture of my barn. See the telephone pole... that's on
highway 202, the north boundery of my property. You can see some
of my chickens browsing near the fence and near the barn. The
barn needs work. It's an old pole barn, with pretty rusty
courrigated tin for the roof and sides. For now, it suits my
purpose, by keeping the weather off my tractor and the chickens.
Along the fence (and along most of the fences around and through my
homestead,) there are blackberries, but they are a local variety, and
not as invasive as himilayans. I put the door that you see
against the barn there for cover for chickens when the local hawks come
around. They like it.

Some closer pictures of some of my chickens. The hen in the
middle is Olive, she lays my olive colored eggs. The rooster in
the foreground is unnamed. The little dark colored chicken in the
shade is Little Peep, although this isn't a good picture of him.
The hen halfway between him and the barn is Robin, the hen that lays
the light blue eggs.

This is a close up picture of Robin.
I hope to get more pictures up soon. I'll try to put some up once
or twice a week so you can follow the progress here at Hankins Hollow,
with pictures of the house, Polly, the garden as it grows, the Nehalem
river, my stream, and anything else I can think of.
Have a great day!

I love your homestead and there is so much land and it looks very peaceful. Your chickens have so much freedom to roam around too - which I like and they are beautiful chickens you have.
I like it very much and can't wait to see photos of your homestead.
Tons of blessings

You have a nice homestead there. I love seeing chickens roaming around a farm and you do have some nice looking chickens.
I would like to see pictures of your house too. I haven't posted any pictures of mine yet. We live in a house that is over 100 yrs old and we love it.Some people have called it a dump and I will tell you it is kind of like the house from Green Acres. Have you ever seen that TV show?

But it's my dump :) Yeah I've seen green acres, loved it when I was really young. I will get some pictures up of the house soon, well, as soon as I take them. The core of my house is 130 years old, but it's been added onto a few times.
You know, it's functional, the roof doesn't leak, and I can do whatever I want to it. I have a roof over my head, and for that I am blessed :) It might be a mess, but it's my mess.
