Question on local (PNW) rabbitries
I know this site is worldwide, but I'm getting really frustrated while
looking on the internet and in the local phonebooks for a
rabbitry. I want to raise rabbits for meat. I have two
hutches built, and two more in the works. The rabbitry who I
wanted to work with, well, they no longer have a web page nor is there
any mention of them in the newest local phone book. I want to get
my stock from a professional, because of some of the local disease
problems. If I work with a profesional, I can get certified and
gauranteed healthy rabbits, with lots of help and information. I
have done it before, so I (kinda sorta) know what I am doing.
As far as I can tell, there are no local rabbitries. Nothing on
the web, nothing in the phone books. Everything I search for
gives me pet shops, and there is no way I'm going to get breeding stock
without a hutchcard and records on the parents. I don't think I
would ever get a rabbit (or anythng else) from a petshop,
anyways. I'm going to the feed store tomorrow, so maybe I can get
some info from them, but my local internet searches are really
beginning to frustrate me.
If anyone out there has expereince with buying rabbits in the NW
Oregon, SW Washington area, I would love to hear from you. For
that matter, any help or information on rabbits would be great.
Thanks again,
Raymond

One of my cousins raised rabbits for quite a time from childhood to adulthood. In fact, it got his college fund prepared for him for college and beyond. I'll see if I can't get in touch with him to see what he suggests. He had his from the age of six, and that's a lot of dedication and know how. So I'll get back to you in a couple of days if you don't find something by then :o)
That would be great help!!!
