• Friday, June 8, 2007 - Simple Tips for Simple Living ~ #2

"Purge! Purge! Purge!

We simply have too much stuff. Possessions take up space, time, money and emotional energy.  And quite often, we are expending these valuable resources on items we haven't used in five years.  If an item is beautiful, useful, or loved, keep it. If not, clear the decks.  A good rule of thumb is "If you haven't used it in the last 12 months, you probably won't use it in the next 12""

Tips-#2:

Clean your telephone by wiping with rubbing alcohol, but keep the moisture from getting into the holes in the mouthpiece.

Never record a greeting on your answering machine that tells callers you are not at home or are away for a few days.  Such messages can unwittingly invite burglars.

Phone Cards make a great, yet simple gift when tucked into a card which says "only a phone call away."  While few of us need more dust catchers or clothes, and finding that perfect gift seems impossible, we can all use the support of family and friends. The true gift is not really the phone card ~ it is your willingness to let them know you're ready to listen when they call and enough foresight to make it easy for them, no matter what their circumstances might be.... what better way to let someone know you truly care.

Be connected to your world.  Whatever you are doing in this moment, really experience it.  Too much of our lives are spent in the "maybes" or "could be's" - so much so that the joys we could experience now are overlooked and lost in the reflections and yearning for the "never were's" in out lives.  Living is a verb, a word of action, and not just a periods of sleepwalking between dreams and disappointments.  Whatever you do, do it, truly experience it, make it a moment that matters to you so when you look back, you have a treasury of accomplishments savored, and not unhappy regards for lost time and opportunity.

That is a really sad comment that "annon" left you. I've heard of these, but this is the first time I've seen one.

I agree with purging, we have waaaay more than we need! It was nice to condense our tv & computer into one system, one desk. :)

Blessings,
Ashley

Before you delete the terrible comment, (if you see this!) the front porch has instructions on what to do and some directions to follow! I just wanted to give you a head's up!

Thank you ladies.. I'll check out what the front porch says to do about these. But Praise God!!! Is't it wonderul to know that something that I POSTED on MY blog, made the devil angry. Its almost an HONOR ~ It means that something there struck a nerve ~ so much so that Saten felt the need to lead someone into a futile attemp at mocking Gods word. It's very long, if it was shorter, I'de leave it right there, but it is rather overkill, if I must say myself. Anyhoo.. Praise Him anyhow!
