HOMESTEADING MAMA
2006-Jan-23
HI EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi !!!!!! I'm CB ,a 26 yr young mama to 2 beautiful little girls 4 & 6 yrs. We homeschool & try to live as natural & gently as possible!I have been a vegetarian for 5 1/2 yrs.,my kids their whole lifes. So if you know any really great veg recipes send them my way!! We try to be as natural & simple as possible,  we eat very healthly I make all our food from scratch & very rarely by any bag or can food. Every week I make a food list & menu so that I buy only what we need.We grow a small garden & I just got some blueberry plants.Does anyone have info on growing those? We don't have land yet but that is our goal! I'm trying to find a way I can help my husband with making a little extra money as things are always tight in that area,so we can save up. I would like to sell homemade items. I like to knit & sew & so do my girls! We live in a small town surrounded by forest but we are right in the middle of town in a small 2 bedroom house with a yard full of blackberry bushes.YUM!!!Well thats all for now. I'm glad I found this place!!

Great to have you here! I'll be watching to see if you get any blueberry tips ;) I'm pondering which berry to grow first here on our lit'l homestead....blueberries, strawberries, grapes....oh the choices LOL!
Again, welcome home!

WELCOME! Hmmm blackberries and blueberries.......you must be a Northwest girl ;)

Blueberries love acidic soil.......fyi.....coffee grounds seem to work wonders with the soil around blueberries :)

Have a blessed day!

Welcome CB! We put in our first blueberry bushes last year but my FIL mowed them down one day, trying to be "helpful"! Grrr. At least they are growing back, so maybe we'll get berries this year. I've been a vegetarian since birth myself - I'm sure your girls will grow up great!
