Down Mulberry Lane

Oh, the honest murmurings from my heart...

I am starting to sew up my quilt blocks for the quilt block exchange.  I know I am a little late on this, but sewing the blocks is going much faster than I anticipated.  However, I am being held up by the fact that my iron decided to quit working TODAY!  Now, I'm not sure that is fair!  I can't quit working when the days are so full, why does it get to quit???

Keeping up with my record keeping for school is really geting me down.  I am so behind... or rather disorganized with what is done.  I have a 3 part system of planning, jotting down in a notebook what got done on what day... and then I have a separate notebook for my highschooler's in which I can keep classwork together and grade and get it ready for the transcript with course descriptions.  It is tedious, but it worked OK for my oldest.. but not wonderful, because her last two years didn't get put into the last book, so I am thumbing through old record books trying to put it all together.   So, today I downloaded Homeschool Tracker and I am hoping that this will work for all three and I will only need to record it in one place and boy was I glad to see a spot for course descriptions and once in... I should be able to use it for all my kids, not just for one child.  That should help on some of these high school courses.  I think it is a bit of overkill for elementary age kids, but nice for high school.... which is where I feel I am drowning in paperwork!  We will see how it works.  I've used their basic program before, but that didn't allow me to copy assignments or make records that I need for high school.... so the basic edition didn't really help me with time saving... hoping this bigger edition will.

Well, I am out of computer time.  Until next time...

Warmly, ~Melissa

Homeschool Tracker

Hi Melissa,
Thank you for stopping by my blog yesterday. I have used Homeschool Tracker for many years now. I started with the basic edition when my oldest children were still in elementary school, but about 2-3 years ago, I bought the Plus version. It is still a record keeping system and it really is only as good as the person inputting the data, but I really like it. I do find that I must spend a few minutes a day with it to keep current. The up front work of inputing all the data is a bit time consuming, but worth it in my opinion. Now if it would just grade the papers for me. I have SUCH A STACK! Ugh! It will have to wait though.
Blessings,
Jennie
