I just scanned this recipe right out of the Mother Earth News so hope that it is clear for everyone. I have made this twice. The first time I set it on the counter over night, however, I think because of my pellet stove that it was too warm in the room. It looked as if the dough had risen to quickly. The next time I kept it in the oven overnight and it turned out beautifully. This is a very crusty on the outside, moist on the inside bread. I did use a cast iron dutch oven to cook it in. I really would love to hear how it turned out for anyone if they use the recipe. Kat |

Today my husband went into work... we never quite get a full weekend anymore. What with DH's job and church the weekend just seems to slip away. However, today I have no "set in stone" plans. It is a bitter 20 degrees outside and the wind is howling. Today's high is only to be 33. I plan on doing some baking... there is a recipe that I found in Mother Earth news for "No Knead Bread". This is suppose to produce a crusty loaf of bread on the outside and moist bread on the inside. If it works then I will definitely post it for all of you to have a gander at. I also plan on doing some "girly" stuff today. It seems like here lately that all of my sewing projects have been for the men in the family. I am in the mood for making a frilly little apron or something along those lines. I hope that all of you get everything that you want to get accomplished done today... Blessings, Kat

A lot has been happening in our lives since I blogged last. We moved from our 40 acre farm, which was mostly pine trees, to a smaller 13 acre farm. This was such a blessing for us. Not only do I have to not worry about that big ol' house, this land is so much better suited to running our goats. I love to look out my window and see my "kids" playing in the pasture. I have also decided to wipe all of my old entries out. Starting over with a clean slate seems to be the norm for me lately. I am still enjoying grandbaby Emma. She is such a joy to be around and growing like a weed.
This is little Emma...
This is Michael my DH and me...
This is Travis my SIL and Nicole my oldest DD with the little peanut... Hope everyone has a blessed day... Kat |
