My Ramblings

Move-in Day!!!

I've been enjoying the week off this week from work.  Yesterday I worked for 1/2 a day to pay bills for the company and the like.  Today I am here at work, again, but I believe it will be only a 1/2 day again.  We'll see. 

Yesterday dh and I went to Dirt Cheap after work b/c a friend mentioned they had some furniture, and dh has been wanting a nice desk.  There were not any left, I don't know if there were any desks to begin with, though.  I ended up getting some things that we needed around the house for cheap, like shampoo (I ended up getting a nicer brand that normal, b/c it was so cheap! yay!) and Q-Tips.  I also got some face moisturizer for my ds, who is coming in town this weekend, that she's been wanting, so it'll be a little suprize.  She is bringing in some nice bread for us from a wonderful organic food market that I LOVE LOVE LOVE. 

I think we might try to make caramel corn this weekend. I know my dd loves it, and he can't find the kind he used to get from the grocery store anymore.  I saw Paula Deen making it recently, so I'll be able to use that recipe.

Last night I cooked a Chicken Tortilla Casserole for dh, dd, and myself.  There's still plenty left for when ds and her husband come into town.  Also, I made a Caramel Apple Cheesecake (very low in fat and sugar, too!) but it had to chill in the fridge for a while, so I ended up not eating it yet.  I don't even know how much of a cheesecake mood I'm in, but I know the family likes it.  I'm glad I'm not a big sweets eater.  However, I do have my vices. 

We are moving in this weekend!  Hooray!!!  We are so excited.  It has been nice living with my dd, but we are ready to be on our own again!  I know I am.  Dh and I went by the house last night, and the house is looking so good!  Only minor things, now, and those things will be done after we move all our stuff in!  :o) Yippee!!
