My Ramblings

Hooray!!! It worked!!!

I couldn't read my comments for some reason that you all sent me, but now I can.  I think for some reason I could start reading it once I posted a comment to myself.  Strange.

Last night I cooked fajitas for dh and I.  They were pretty good, but I usually just eat the onions out of the vegetables.  Dh likes the bellpeppers, too.  Afterwards, we watched "Wallace and Grommit: the Tale of the Warerabbit."  It was cute.  There was no foul language to speak of, and a very cute tale.  The whole thing was made in "claymation" (shot frame by frame, with everything in the movie made out of clay).  It must have taken a long time to make it, b/c each movement had to be hand done.  My husband and I are fans of claymation.

I have been commissioned to do a watercolor!  This is actually not new news, b/c my dad really asked me to do it about 2 months ago, but I will start on it tonight.  Please someone aske me occasionally how far along I'm coming on it to hold me accountable to staying up at it.  I find that with making my art, since I don't have a set schedule like most jobs have, I tend to put things off or work at a weird schedule.

My Granda's birthday was yesterday.  He turned 77.  He doesn't seem 77.

For some reason my email is not working.  I cannot check it.  I can get to the site, and it tells me how many emails I have accrewing in the box, but I cannot check them.  I cannot even see who they are from.  It is very frustrating!

I think tonight I'm going to make shishkabobs with the leftover steak, some chicken, and with the extra bellpeppers, and onions.  Dh likes to grill a lot, and I like to eat what he grills a lot, so it works out well!  I have been making a salad for part (or all) of my lunch or supper for the past couple of nights, and it has renewed my interest in salads!  I ate a chef salad from the cafe that my dh works in the other day, and it was very good, but quite expensive.  So I decided to make my own version.  Here is the "recipe":

-bowl full of lettuce (your choice on the type, but the greener the veggie, the more
  nutrients/flavor it has)

-grated cheddar cheese

-grated Moteray jack cheese

-a sprinkle of Feta cheese

-cooked ham cut up on it (lunch meat works fine, but a cooked ham is DEFINATELY
  better)

-mini shrimp ( they are $2-3 from a can in the tuna section and seem like a small amount, but
really a can goes a long way!  you'll be suprised!  plus, you can add these little guys to pasta
or sauce for an inexpensive alternative to larger shrimp)

-sunflower seeds, unsalted

or

-chopped pecans

-small amount of Italian dressing

-small amount of Ranch dressing (I prefer light made with sour cream.  but i don't eat the m-
  word, either)

-pasta salad (made with italian dressing, not m-word)

Put in bowl according to the order listed.  The topping I like is pasta salad.  It adds a wonderful texture.  Also, lemon is always good squeesed over salad or almost anything, plus it's cheap and nutrient-rich!!
