A Whole-Lotta Chicken Picatta

After a full day of work, I came home to see that dh had cleaned house!  Hooray!!!  I got a coupon in the email from Dairy Queen (b/c i'm in their blizzard fan club...it's free and easy, just go to www.blizzardfanclub.com) for a free blizzard if I buy one, so dh and I made a stop at the DQ on the way home.  I got snicker and he got oreo.  YUM!!!  I can justify it b/c the storm yesterday (it was really windy!!!) switched the a/c breaker, so it had been off all day, and it was SUPER hot here, plus its the calcium I need with a growing baby!  Actually, I'd need the calcium, anyway, (as I'd dare say most of you all out there do, too) to protect against osteoperosis or worse! 

When I got home, I decided to try a new recipe.  Chicken Picatta.  It was good.  I especially liked the chicken (I served it over rice, but noodles or plain is good, too), but the sauce was pretty good, as well.  I served it to my Dad and cousin also, but they didn't really care for the sauce.  It has a strong flavor, and I think they would have preferred a gravy.  I may do that next time, but I was glad to see dh liked it.  Dad and my cousin had fresh peaches from the farmer's market for dessert, but dh and I opted against dessert, since we ate ours first. 

Tomorrow is dH's birthday!!!!  It will be the beginning of the 5 days out of the year that we are not the same age.  He is turning 22.  We have been celebrating in small ways all week.  Hence the blizzards. 

He is reading right now while I am typing.  The first half of a biography of D. Martin Lloyd Jones.  He's almost through!

Tomorrow is payday at work!!!  Yippee!!!  I think we are going to try to save as much of it as possible....I hope we can do it! I may choose to go ahead and take a good bit of it out before depositing it, and putting it in a different account than ususal. 

Well, I'm off to watch a movie before I have to return it!

this is the 3rd time i try and leave a comment lol puter has a mind of it's own tonite..dinner sounds wonderful, the early dessert was mouth watering. lol
