Claire: Here is an actual breakdown of a 30lb pregnancy gain from one of my "baby books".
Baby.........7 & 1/2 lbs
Placenta ....1 & 1/2 lbs
Amniotic fluid ....2 lbs
Uterine enlargement...... 2 lbs
Maternal breast tissue......2 lbs
maternal blood volume........4 lbs
Fluids in maternal tissue......4 lbs
Maternal fat stores ...... 7lbs

Hope this helps! I gained 32. I lost 17 the day I had Samuel! 20 is adverage for the first month. I've heard you have to nurse longer than 3 months for it to help you lose weight, which was certainly true for me. Last month I lost 5 more, if I lose 10 more I'm back to what I was but I think part of the weight won't go away until I'm done nursing....I'm getting back into my jeans but even the baggest of my old shirts are tight! So I'm not in a big hurry, b/c I'm not feeling "fat" with the xtra weight.

[EDIT: I have tried the pizza crust someone left you, and it is TERRIFIC! I've never been a fan of homemade pizza, which I now realize is because of my mom's crusts (sorry mom)! This crust was soooo good!]
