No Market on SaturdayThere will be no Burns farm booth tomorrow at the Marietta Square Market. The heat and the drought have combined to wither the beans and the okra to a crawl, and while the tomatoes look good, with gas at $3.00 per gallon, it was not a profitable plan to have two cars going up and down the interstate hauling just tomatoes. So we will have to market our tomatoes to our suburban friends via email this week and hope and pray for their responses to be positive. Meanwhile, on the school front, I am almost planned out. I am more planned and organized than I have ever been but that's what the stress of teaching two will do as a motivating tool! I am excited to see how this new plan will work it's way into routine. Working in my favor next week is the success at the library I had on Wednesday. I found four of the books on our recommended reading list for the history lesson plan, and that hardly ever happened on schedule last year, at least not for the first month! I was pretty psyched! I have cleaned out two drawers, three cabinets, and have the storage situation fairly under control. Now, if I can just get the boys' closets cleaned out.......nah, maybe next week. Or maybe sometime soon, it will actually rain and I can use the indoor time to get seasonal clothes organized. I'm not holding my breath for the rain. |
