Another gloomy day full of wind and rain! The winds got up to at least 28 MPH. Our garbage can got blown across the road. I had to adjust our satellite about 4 times because the wind kept moving it over!
They started running production at Jerm's job yesterday, and they're not wanting anyone to get any overtime. Thankfully he did have a lotover the Christmas season, that was nice. It is nice having him home earlier as well...it's not like I'll be buying Polar watches or anything so I think we're good!
My eczema was flared up really bad so I had to start using my steroid cream again...it's helped immensely but I hate using it...my skin is gonna get so thin I won't have any left!
Well I ned to upload some pics, have a nie evening!
Blessings,

Sun Jan 4th
Today was a good day. We had a guest singer and guest speaker at church today. The singer was Marty Magehee, but I can't remember the other guy's name...I know it was a friend of his though. What a blessing they were to everyone.
I've been knitting a hat for Lucas...it's a stocking cap, and I can't wait for it to be finished! He'll look so cute in it, that is, if it gets cold enough for him to wear it. We've had such strange weather this year...it's either really cld or unusually warm.
I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but we got a new TV last week as sort of a family Christmas gift. It's pretty nice. 32", full HD LCD. Thankfully it came with a tv stand...there's no way we could mount a tv on our walls. I can barely keep a towel rack up! We just have to make sure Ethan stays away from it. He breaks most anything he looks at!
Well have a nice night!
Blessings,

Wow it's the New Year already! Hard to believe isn't it? Ethan turned 4 on Saturday and we got him a little folk guitar since he loves playing. We took him to Pizza Hut Friday to eat. Hard to believe he's already 4!
Christmas was so wonderful this year...I just love watching the old black and w hite Christmas that come on...my 2 favorites are Christmas in Connecticut and Holiday Affair. I love the talk of buying "Dad" loud silk ties. I guess that was the thing to do back then! Jerm doesn't wear suits and ties, although I guess he would if he needed to.
Jerm and Issac both have birthdays this month. Jerm's is the 14th and Issac's is the 26th. Issac will be 6! I won't say how old Jerm will be *snicker*, but he is in his thirties now, I will give you that! Not sure what to get them yet, although I may get Issac a learning game for his Leapster.
Jerm was off yesterday and is off through the weekend...I love having him home!
Have a great day!
Blessings,

Review: Salem Ridge Press
| Rachelle loves to read so I was excited about doing this review. Salem Ridge Press is a publishing company established in 2005, with the intent of republishing books from the 1800s and early 1900s. Currently they offer 23 books. I received Mary Jane - Her Book, Glaucia the Greek Slave, and The American Twins of the Revolution. Mary Jane was the biggest hit here. This story is the first in the Mary Jane series of stories, about 5 year-old Mary Jane and the adventures she has every day! She learn to sew, plant a garden, and helps her mother around the house (Which can even be a big adventure today!). I am very pleased with the books, they are very appropriate for our children and are wholesome, which is the goal of Salem Ridge Press! |

Spears Art Studio
| I am happy to bring you a review for an exciting curriculum. Spears Art Studio was created by Dr. Diane Spears, who is both an author and artist. There are programs for grades K-8. Altogether there are 498 pages, 269 activities, and 137 patterns! You have so much to choose from! Rachelle and Issac really enjoy this, they both love art. One thing I really like about Spears is this program is geared towards Christian home schoolers. Bible verses go along with each lesson. The k-8 program will cost $39.95 for just the CD-Rom, or $134.95 for both the CD-ROM and a black and white hard copy. There is also a program for High School, which will cost $29.95 for the CD-ROM or a hard copy for $69.95. You can also purchase a combo of the 2 for just $84.95. You can purchase these directly from Spears Art Studio! |

Tuesday Dec 30th
I've had a crazy busy 2 weeks it feels like, esp last week. I think in total the kids opened presents at 5 different places including home. NOw I just need to find time to throw out the old stuff to make room for the new, which is hard with a baby, but I'll manage. The kids were so excited to get their new bikes Christmas morning. Jerm bought a new 32" HDTV on Friday for us as a "family gift". It's pretty nice. The kids are watching Pee-Wee on it right now I got odds and ends, and a couple gift cards, so I bought myself some much needed new clothes.
Jerm wants the kids to maybe go to public school next year...poor Rachelle struggles in math though and I'm sure she's not where they are, and I think it would stress her out to have to try and get caught up. She does excellent with reading though. I kind of let her go at her own pace with the math. Oh well we shall see. If they went I thought about looking into administrative careers, but I think I'll just stay home. I think with having 4 kids, even if 2 were in school I'd be too busy with home stuff.
Well I'm gonna get started on my day, have a great one!
Blessings,

Friday Dec 19th
Well time is flying by, before we know it, it will be 2009! This has been an exciting year for us, for sure! We had another baby, and Jerm got another job!
My week has seemed hectic, although I haven't gotten much done. I think Lucas is having another growth spurt, he's eating more and not letting me put him down much. Rach & Issac had their Christmas play Wed night...they did a FANTASTIC job! Ethan got to be in the play as well. R&I were angels and Ethan was a "rock" star...really just a star but the toddlers were supposed to be musical and run around LOL, like rok stars. It was cute! OH! I almost forgot...Lucas got to be baby Jesus! He was so adrable.
I am finished Christmas shopping, we're going to friends' tmorrow evening, then doing our usual maniacal running around Christmas Eve and Day. Oh the joys of large families!
I've got to pick up Lucas' pics today from Olan Mills... I was not impressed with their services much, but I did buy a few pics since a few were good...and I do mean only a few. We'll have to have a family portrait done sometime since we know our family is complete now!
Well, gonne go surf the net while I have some free time!
Blessings,

Friday Dec 12th
Ah yesterday was busy...I am almost finished Christmas shopping, only have 2 people left to buy for. Next year I may try and make a few gifts to save money. I wouldn't have had much time for it this year or I Would have made some. I wrapped the kids' stuff yesterday and his it in the closet in a box
Jerm wants to get a flat screen TV *sigh* I really don't mind getting one, I'd l ike to have a nicer one, it's just not something on my "have to have" list. I've kind of tried to talk him out of it, but so far no dice LOL. Maybe he'd save money with wholesale electronics. All the ones we've looked at are more than we can pay OOP. The only places here that do layaway are Kmart and Sears I think, and Sears is only untl Dec 23rd so that's not useful to us. Oh well we'll see what happens!
Gotta change Lucas, have a great day!
Blessings,

Sun Dec 7th
Well Rach spent the night with my parents Friday night, and Ethan did last night. I will have a nice quiet morning!
Jerm's work is supposed to start production tomorrow, so I guess he'll be working regular hours this week which will be AWESOME! It'll be nice to see my honey again. He didn't have to go in until 8 yesterday, and 7 this morning so I got to see him beforehand.
I'm almost done Christmas shopping. Next year I may make a few gifts if I have the time. We still need to get Ethan a guitar for his birthday (it's 2 days after Christmas). We have cowboy boots already for him, but he loves playing guitar so he needs one! I got myself some new knitting needles Thursday...they're made of birch I think, and they are SO smooth! I'm making another sock for Lucas hopefully...I'm not sure I'll have enough yarn for the 2nd sock, but we'll see. I'd love to fine some Christmas yarn to make us all stockings with, but that yarn is so hard to find here anymore.
Well have a good day!
Blessings,

Thurs Dec 4th
Well today is a wonderful day! I guess LOL At least I have another day! The kids are being ornery (well Rach & Ethan) and Issac is still a little sickly. Lucas is being his sweet self
I ordered some new kniting needles and sock yarn last week...I'm going to knit children's socks to sell. I'm trying to knit some "testing" socks for mamas to try out on a diapering/parenting forum that I frequent. I'm so excited about this new venture! Finding the actual time to knit though can prove interesting. I'll hafta hide all my stuff and install a wireless security system to keep everything safe away from Ethan...my nosy little goober. I have several different sock yarn colors so I can make for boys and girls...I only have like 2 pairs for newborns made right now, but I'm hoping to get my stock nicely built up soon!
Well better get going!
Blessings,

Wed Dec 3rd
Well not much has gone on this week. Some good news though...Jerm has gone from working 12 hour days to 10 hour days, which means he can sleep in an extra hour and we see him an hour earlier in the evenings! I'm so happy about that. The money is nice, but it's not fun to never get to see him more than an hour a day.
I don't remember if I mentioned it, but Monday I took Lucas to Olan Mills to have pics done. I don't think I'll be going back there. My appt was at 10, and the only person there was the receptionist. A photographer never showed up until after 10:30. Apparently the one who was supposed to do Lucas' pics was the Christmas help. Anyhow, we didn't leave until about noon! I did get a free 8x10 since I had to wait so long, but still, I"m not going back there. PLUS, their portrait sheets are normally $25 a sheet, but on the day of your sitting you get them half off. I think I bought 4 sheets, plus what I got for the small package I ordered. I spent as much on pics as I spend on car insurance every month! I think I'll stick to Penney's for pics from now on!
Issac seems sickly today so I'm not sure I'll take him to church tonight or not, just hafta wait and see. He has asthma so I'm wary of the weather. It snowed the other day adn the kids played out in it a little, and since then he's been sort of congested. I need to call and see if he has any refills left on his inhaler. If not then I need to call the Dr. AND I need to look for his spacer...it's in their room somewhere so I'll have to go searching.
Well, BBL!
Blessings,

How's your weather?
| It is cold and rainy here! It's a balmy 36 degrees right now, and raining! I think we're supposed to get snow later today, but I'm not 100% sure. This weather has wrecked havoc on my skin! My face keeps breaking out in zits and the rest of me is dry as a bone. I've been looking at treatments for acne for my face and had to break down and buy some cream for the winter. Rach, Issac and I all have eczema, and it looks like Lucas may have a touch of it too! :( So I'll have to start greasing him up too as well I guess! |

Monday Dec 1st
Wow the 1st of the month already! I'm taking Lucas to have his pics done at Olan Mills later on...I've never had pics through them before, they had a special that I bought Wed, it was like $13 for so many pics. Not sure how much their sheets are, I hope not too much, I don't have a lot to spend. Oh well we'll see! I usually go to Penney's.
I've already started laundry this morning. Got to wash diapers today or Lucas won't have any nice absorbent ones to wear tonight!
Welp have a good day!
Blessings,

Sunday evening Nov 30th
Wow can you believe the 1st of Dec is tomorrow?! How time flies!
Today has truly been a blessing! A lady at church brought me 3 bags of clothes for Issac and Ethan! I haven't gone through them yet to see what fits who...the bags are too heavy for me to get out of the van! How awesome is that?! She also gave us a small bag of pasta, she is diabetic so she's having to cut back on carbs I reckon. Also, someone my BFF knows gave my a large bag of clothes for Lucas! A lot won't fit, but those I may be able to consign and get soem that will fit him. God is so awesome!
We found out that we won't be able to get insurance through Jerm's job until May I think...I'm used to being without insurance since through his old job it was either $400 or $600 a month for health insurance. I guess we'll get some term life insurance quotes then as well. We have whole l ife for the kids, except I need to add Lucas onto it.
I'm having Lucas' pic made tomorrow...I'm so excited! I got him an adorable Santa outfit to wear, he is so handsome in it!
Well off to surf!
Blessings,

Sunday Nov 30th
Ah another day in the Carroll household! Ethan is already being a pest so I can see that today will be a lovely day! I took a long nap yesterday so I didn't go to bed until about 12:30 this morning, which is fine, I feel rested. I guess today we're going to church then coming home. We usually go to the ILs for lunch but MIL is sick. We couldn't go last week because FIL had a stomach bug. I think the kids are having withdrawals! They love going to Mamaw's and eating roast, I think it's the highlight of their week! Kind of like having a theater and theater seating in your own home I guess How cool would that be?
Oh Praise God it has been raining here since yesterday! I think our rain deficit is around 7 inches, not sure how much we've gotten but the rain has been fairly steady since yesterday afternoon. Jerm has a rain guage but I really don't feel like walking out into the rain to look! It's too darn cold!
Well I guess I should get the kids up and ready...have a great day!
Blessings,

Review for Saturday Nov 29th
If you homeschool and love buying books, you will love this! Homeschool Library Builder is a site that lets you build your book library without breaking yoru wallet! For each dollar you spend, you earn 1 HSLB Book Point, and for every 15 Book Points in your account, that gives you $1 in your account to use towards a future purchase! It's like earning cash back! You can even search book by curriculum if you use Ambleside, Veritas Press, Sonlight, Five in a Row, Beautiful Feet, and Tapestry of Grace. Books are suggested for each curriculum's grade level, how great is that?! No searching around all day for the perfect book companion. But you don't have to use those curriculums to reap the benefits of HSLB. Some books listed are overstock, gently used, or even Out Of Print! You just never know what kind of great treasure you'll find at HSLB! |

Friday Nov 28th
Well no Black Friday shopping for me! LOL I couldn't go if I had even wanted to, plus I didn't get out of bed until about 8 this morning. I Was gonna buy Lucas some more prefold dipes on a website this morning but they're all sold out since she was doing a sale. Oh well!
We're mostly done Christmas shopping...I just have to buy for my brother and Dad I think...oh and my BFF and her DH and kiddos. THEN I think we'll be done! Oh wait, I need to get Lucas 1 more thing. I think I want to get him a Bumbo chair. Or a Jack-in-the-box. I'm a bit undecided. Oh well I'll figure it out!
I can't wait to start getting out of debt next year...no more dealing with commercial collection agencies or anything! Not that we have in quoite a while, but still, not having the worry any will be nice. I'll need to start my plan of action soon.
Jerm was off yesterday, it was so nice to have him home ALL DAY LONG! Plus, he got off work early Wednesday! Woo!
Well better get started on my day!
Blessings,

Wed Nov 26th
I feel like I"ve been so busy this week, but maybe it's just been a slow week and I"ve been bored? I think that's what's going on.
Lucas had his 2 month checkup Monday...he weighs 11.13 lbs and he's 23.5 inches long! My baby's growing! He had 3 shots I hate those! It's looking like he may have some slight eczema so I bought some cream for his skin. He gets that from his good ole mama Aren't my kids just lucky?!
Jerm brought home ANOTHER box of goodies from work last night!...bring on the Anoretix! Man I'm loving it. He brought these 100 calorie bars that are made with puffed rice, cranberries, and citrus...mmmmm so good! He also told me taht he's supposed to be getting off work early today! He's been working 12 hour days since he came home from PA. He hasn't had a day off sine Sunday the 16th. He worked this past weekend and is prolly working this weekend, but he has tomorrow off! The only good thing about him wirking like this is we actually have some extra money left over from his check.
Well off to start my day!
Blessings,
~*Becca*~ |
