I just checked my bank account and the stimulus check from the government has been deposited into our bank account. That's $1800 that is going on our car loan next month. Our car loan balance at the beginning of this month was around $4350. I paid $1000 on it last week, so now it's $3350. I'll pay the $1800 plus the normal $500 monthly payment so that takes it down to $1050. I have an affiliate check coming from Book Closeouts,a paycheck from TOS and some money from selling books that will make up that last $1050 and PAY OFF THAT LOAN on June 1st ... yea!!!
Then, it's time to start snowballing that $500 monthly payment over to my husband's car loan and get that one paid off as soon as possible! It feels great to have gotten my car loan paid off in ONE year from the time we traded off my car! We are going to try to do the same thing with Jim's car - pay it off early, but are aiming for a goal of 18 months to payoff. That is June 2009 - we're really going to have to push to do it!

Congrats Kris!!! YIPEE!!! Ok, I am going to go check my account today too! LOL We will be using our money for repairs on the house, and then we are planning on putting the house up for sale.

What an amazing feeling! That's really great. When was yours due to come in? Ours was supposed to be deposited on May 9, but I've heard people say that it's coming in early. Guess I should go check our acct.!

Congrats on getting your money. And for getting the car loan paid off so early.. You are working so hard to get it done but you are doing it. You both should be so proud of yourselves for spending the money like you have..

It's nice to see others paying off their extra debts as well. It is extra incentive, I think, when I am on the same path and I see someone else with a victory... it just helps me push a little harder with my own.
