About Me

We're a blended family of six, two children still at home, two parents who want family to be just that....a home where God is first, love abounds and along the path we learn the skills and efforts to do some things we think are important. Life is not all sunshine and roses, but it should be a world we can look at confidently knowing we are abundant in God's favor and care....we lived in the rural country for five years, employment returned us to the city recently, but we are still very determined to live a quiet life, a simpler life and enjoy the gifts God gives us and share with others.

A Joyful Place

Isn't it interesting....

That the devil works twice as hard to keep things stirred when stress comes? We work with young families, blended families, and single moms as mentors. Often they are in financial, relational and at times emotional distress. It seems when one domino begins to fall, satan starts pushing the whole stack over.
You will find in life that as you continue to focus on God, praise Him, and read and learn His Word, things will slowly but surely starting clearing out in the strife and struggle department. Its simply not our burden to care if we are in relationship with God.  God is our provider, our healer, our mentor our loving father.....IF we'll allow Him to be and are obedient to His Word.
The first thing that happens when we work with a new person or couple is that we find that they have 100 reasons Sunday morning and Wednesday evenings not to come to church. They have every intention of coming, to church, to fellowship, to small groups, to studies......but just as they want to leave.... the tire will go flat before leaving, the baby will be up the night before, a headache will come....gas money will disappear....this is not simply happening, this is satan working his hand to keep you away from things that take you away from him! Seems perfectly logical at the time to do whatever came up....but if you look more closely there will be a pattern that leads you astray and each time you submit to it, you will find it easier to the next time. Surrounding yourself with people who are headed where you want to be in life is important....you cannot change your path if you keep trodging old trails that lead to nowhere.
Fellowship with other Christians isn't about the best choir, sermon, cute clothes, or who's better behaved or what kind of pew there is there. Its about coming to a place to be in fellowship with bretheren who with you are praising our Father and learning His ways. Yes, very often satan uses unmindful Christians as pawns too....we say unkind things sometimes without even realizing its pain, we forget ourselves and do not treat others lovingly or kindly in our rushes, or thoughtlessness....but when we put our minds on God, He will fill us with his wisdom,  give us His plan for us, share His love for us to share with others.
When we do not pay attention to the things we think, when we do not keep our minds focused on the things God tells us. We, in our flesh, are apt to say just about anything. We might even believe whatever is oppressing us is unsurmountable and live in fear that its not fixable...what lies those are!! Most of the time we do not even acknowledge that there is a devil and he's out to kill, steal, and destroy us. God plainly tells us, shows us examples, and teaches us that we must protect our minds and hearts from satan's lies!
God is a God of peace. If YOUR peace is gone, perhaps you've not been pushing the negative, the anger, the resentment out of your heart. If you are anxious for anything perhaps you don't yet fully realize how much God loves you. How BIG the concept of the living God is, and that He is Lord over any obstacle to a joyful life you have.
The world teaches us things have to be a certain way, but God teaches us He will deliver us from our enemies.....and He does it in the weirdest ways....shouting round an encampment.....parting the Red Sea.....sending locusts and plagues.....appearing as a bush ....well, you get the picture, He's a creative God and He's not bound to earthly ideas of what has to be. His wealth is unsurmountable, his patience unending when we come to him in repentance, His grace abundant....He is the God of more than enough for any issue you have.
If your way hasn't been working for you lately. If you are not filled with peace, joy, and and a spirit that is filled with love, perhaps you need to get to know my God......He's waiting to be your God too!

God is good, All the time.

Have a blessings filled day!

I am so glad I have you as a friend. I really needed to read this message tonight. I have almost let things slip today in trying to be a Godly wife to my husband. I know it is the Devil trying to throw me off course with things that worry me but I am going to hold fast to God and pray that he will look after us all. I have to remember that I am not alone in this struggle, even though I don't have any friends or family supporting me here ~ I have God on my side!
