I have decided to leave my Patriotic music up in running and will do so until our Presidential Election. As morale for the American Public is slightly low, I wanted something to help us reflect on what our Founding Fathers based this country on so many years ago. My decision won't be based on words freely spoke, but on actions that deserve my vote. I will vote based on the Love of my country as well as it's people and for those who freely fight to keep me safe. While I don't enjoy war with anyone, including the innocent, I also want to be sure those who are fighting for my freedom and their families are kept safe. Thats where my vote and that of other Americans is most important. Please Join me in prayer for my country as we embark on hard decisions and fight for the freedoms and privledges set by our Founding Fathers and fought so bravely over the years by American Soldiers. I pray also for friends and family of other soldiers from other countries who also fight for the freedoms of their countries. In God may we ALL trust! Love to each and every one of you no matter what country your from. ~Rebekah

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

In Leui of the economy, I REALLY am wanting to find sources for THE BEST prices on gallons of Honey, bags of Wheat Berries, brown rice and beans. I'm also in the market for an economical grain mill or even a used one by someone willing to sell their clean but in good working condition grain mill.
Does anyone have sites and resources to help me find THE BEST prices on the above? I have Wheat Montana but have no other resources to know if they have the absolute best prices. Please share your ideas as we could really use your help.
I'm also looking for those 5 gallon pales that keep the air in made specifically for the grains, anyone know where I could find them at good prices?
I look forward to all your ideas.
Rebekah
What is the difference between Stone and Impact Grinders? Does anyone have any impressions of the Magic Mill III?

Rebekah,
I may not be much help. I buy my honey local at about $20.00 a gallon. I buy my wheat berries from our food CoOP and for a grain mill, I got mine off Ebay. I hope this helps.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008 - best prices I have found

I have found that Wheat montana is the best price for the quality you get... if you find cheaper it normally means the wheat isn't that good and then the bread doesn't turn out. That has been my experience at least. For the best prices on honey.. I would contact www.homegrownfamily.com they are putting together a honey order right now. 5 gal. costs you 90.00 I know you would need to have your shipped to you so that would be extra but this family owned business is wonderful. They are local friends and I trust them dearly! They also have mills for sale.. you might want to check and see if they have any discounted that have been returned but nothing wrong with them. I hope that info helps!! Have a great day! Mrs. Joseph Wood

I would encourage you to call them and let Charity help you personally.. she could answer all your questions and give you great insight on what is available and what is "best" Just thought I would mention that idea to you. I think they have an 800 number... let me know how it goes! Love, Mrs. Joseph Wood

go surfing around waltonfeed.com.
they have a lot of info about grain mills and different grains.
there are a lot of places out here in the west that sell bulk grains already in the buckets sealed and ready to store for a few years. shipping to NY thought would be a fortune.
I do not know of any further East than Colorado or Texas.
ps - we have been VERY pleased with http://www.fruitwoodorchardshoney.com/ for our honey. even shipping to Utah has not been overly expensive, and they have a nice variety with different (natural) flavors. I personally prefer honey from bees pollinating blueberries, but my dh like raspberry, and my ds6 likes orange blossom. their 1-gal has not been more than what I find here at the farmers market.

I would suggest a local source for honey, probably more economical and I believe in helping the local farmers. Just a thought.
I too am researching grain mills, so no help there :)
