Good News: Radio Network Donates Obama Ad Money to Pro-Life Groups
Bott Radio Network, an evangelical chain of stations covering 14 states, was obligated to run political ads paid for by Barack Obama's presidential campaign.
But it wasn't obligated to keep the money.
And so, in the weeks following the election, Bott distributed the $4,000 to pregnancy resource centers in Missouri and Indiana, which were targeted with the Obama ads, the Baptist Press reported.
"We tried to find a way to take lemons and make lemonade," Rich Bott, executive vice president of the network, told Baptist Press. "We felt we had an obligation to clarify our position to our listeners. We aired editorials at the same time his advertisement was running explaining to our listeners that we were required to air those ads and that we objected to his position on life and gay 'marriage.'
"And, we pledged to our listeners that we would donate the revenue from those announcements to pro-life pregnancy centers."

“But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (2Co 10:17)“But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.” (Jer 9:24)
Praise God for His Mercy and Grace! I read this morning in Micah that He delights in mercy. I am so glad that He does! Where would we be without it? I am so glad that he remembers mercy even in His wrath! I am so glad for His mercy and grace when it comes to my family. I praise God for four children all married to godly spouses, all raising their own children for the glory of the Lord, and all willing to do the perfect will of God. Tonight was a special night! One of our children, our third son, was ordained to the ministry. I was overwhelmed with the goodness of God and grateful to Him for all He has done! He and his wife are one deputation to serve on the field of Brazil. Though they may soon part from us on this earth, I am thankful for God's saving grace which will allow us to all be together with our Savior and each other some day in heaven!
3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

It's that time of year when we are all thinking about our New Year's Resolutions. This song came to mind as I was thinking along this line. It really says it all. This ought to be our daily resolution.
I am resolved no longer to linger,
Charmed by the world’s delight,
Things that are higher, things that are nobler,
These have allured my sight.
Refrain
I will hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, greatest, highest, I will come to Thee.
I will hasten, hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, Jesus, greatest, highest, I will come to Thee.
I am resolved to go to the Savior,
Leaving my sin and strife;
He is the true One, He is the just One,
He hath the words of life.
Refrain
I am resolved to follow the Savior,
Faithful and true each day;
Heed what He sayeth, do what He willeth,
He is the living Way.
Refrain
I am resolved to enter the kingdom
Leaving the paths of sin;
Friends may oppose me, foes may beset me,
Still will I enter in.
Refrain
I am resolved, and who will go with me?
Come, friends, without delay,
Taught by the Bible, led by the Spirit,
We’ll walk the heav’nly way.
Feel free to enjoy our family Christmas for a few moments.
A wonderful family Christmas
Spend a day or more with your family. We did! Everyone arrived at 4:00 pm
We started family pictures at 4:15. We did a lot of them because this may be the last year we are all together for a while.
At 5:00 we all ate our finger foods. Our menu included hot ham and cheese sandwiches, chips and salsa, sausage balls, cheese puffs, fruit salad, veggies and dip, cookies, peanut butter balls, 2 liter drinks, punch, and mocha coffee cooler. Everything was yummy. Here are a couple of the recipes.
Sausage Balls
½ lb sausage
1 lb. Finely shredded cheese
1 c. bisquick. Blend sausage and cheese.Mix in bisquick, Knead well. Roll into balls. If serving at a later date, bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.Freeze.Bake frozen for 10 - 15 minutes more when ready to use. Otherwise bake 20-25 minutes before serving.
Mocha Coffee Cooler
½ c sugar
¼ c. instant coffee
1 c boiling water
Mix and chill
Just before serving, pour coffee mixture into punch bowl.Stir in 2 quarts of ice cream (chocolate for the mocha taste) and 2 quarts of milk.GREAT!
4. The kids were excited to play the musical present game. I had wrapped a small gift with plenty of layers of paper, bows, ribbons, tissue and a gift bag. As the music played, they passed the gift around. Each time the music stopped, that child would take a layer off. The person who ended up with the gift after all the layers were taken off got to keep it. They enjoyed playing this and I had a small prize for each of the players.
5. Before opening gifts, my son, gave a devotional. His thoughts were on who was our guide? We ought to let the Holy Spirit be our guide each and every day and in each and every step that we take. He guides us through the truth of God's Word.
6. Then it was time to open gifts. We organized them by families, taking turns and watching as each family opened their gifts.
7. Now it was time for the adults to play a game. Each one of us had brought a white elephant gift as well as three dollars to put into the pot. You all know the game. We took turns picking presents and if you wanted to you could swap with another person. When it finally ended, there was a "special" number on one of the gifts. We had one of the kids draw a number and whoever got that "special" number won the pot of money! My second daughter in law was thrilled to be the winner of $30.00 to spend as she wished. We had a good time!
The rest of the evening was spent in fellowship with family members. How blessed I am to have four lovely children who love the Lord and serve Him and nine precious grandchildren with one on the way. What more could one ask for as they walk this earthly journey. How wonderful heaven must be!
It has been over a week since I have been able to do much blogging. We are always busy with lots of family activiities over the holidays. I am thankful for that blessing. However, we still have not had our official Christmas. That's because all of my children were going to be around this week so we decided to wait till New Year's day. So tomorrow will be our big day. All my children (4) and grandchildren (9 and one on the way) will be here. I am excited about that and excited about getting pictures. This may be the last time for a while that we have everyone together. My son and wife are on deputation for the field of Brazil and my daughter and her husband are taking a mission trip next week to Mexico. What a blessing!
Here's another blessing. While talking with my mother-in-law on yesterday, she informed me that she has 72 grand and great grandchildren. Wow! She said that is all she ever wanted and God has blessed her so. My husband is one of nine children so you can see why there are so many. God is good.
