~ "Lies Women Believe" Book Discussion 7 ~

The T.A.G. Blog

Hello ladies!  What a couple of weeks it has been!  Yet through all of the transitions in these last couple of weeks, we have seen God's mighty hand in it all.  I want to say thank you to Marsha at Marsha's Musing for hosting our last book discussion.  Our assignment reading dealt with priorities.  How timely this chapter has been for me.  I'm still working on my priorities.  I think priorities are one of those things we have to periodically analyze and make adjustments when needed.  Marsha gave us some questions to answer for this chapter.  You can review those questions here.

Discussion on Assignment #7

"1) What is the Truth that counteracts the lie "I don't have time to do everything I'm supposed to do"?"
The truth is that there is enough time in the day to do everything God wants me to do that day.

"2) Are you guilty of the 'Superwoman' mentality - "I can do it all" or "I'm supposed to do it all"? You may share a personal story if you would like."
I have fallen into believing this lie before.  It's so easy to find yourself thinking that you're supposed to do it all.  The truth is we can't do it all.  That's why it's so important that we have the priorities God wants us to have.

I apologize for shorter answers this week.  This past week has been filled with trips to my parent's house to do laundry, unpacking, putting things away, decorating, etc.  It's been rather busy.  Now that most of our stuff is unpacked, this week is our week to try and start getting back on a general routine.  Thank you all for your patience with the book study postponements during this time of transition for my family.

Our Memory Work

"'Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'"
                           - John 8:32 (NIV)

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free..."
                           - Galatians 5:1 (NIV)

Assignment 8

Reading
Read Chapter Six.  Read pages 135-165.

Questions
I have decided not to give any discussion questions this week.  My time is still quite filled up with things to do and I haven't had time to put together questions for this chapter.  This chapter is lengthy.  For your posts next week, share what is on your heart at that time for Chapter Six.

This is actually my favorite chapter because I will be homeschooling in less than a month so this is both an exciting and challenging venture for us as a family.

Glad to hear you are settling in and that God is blessing you in your new location! I am still in "new baby fog", not getting much posting done but trying to keep up in reading. I am truly greatful to you and the other women posting about this book.

Good timing for me to be reminded of priorities ... please pray for me in that area.

Blessings to you!!

~ All About Me ~

I grew up in a ministry family. The daughter of a preacher, I definitely fit the typical mold of a preacher’s kid. I have had many life experiences including being a pregnant teen and single mom, experiencing divorce, and more. All of my life experiences, good and bad, have molded me into the person I am today. I have an intense desire to see women live in the freedom Christ came to give them. I myself know the prison of bondage and the liberation of Christ.
