Strange allergic reaction!!!

The other night I was home cooking dinner. I decided to use a new seasoning I had in my pantry to spice up the chicken I was cooking. After I cooked it, I cut off a small peice to taste it. I then began getting the rest of dinner ready. All of a sudden I noticed that my knees were itching, I thought nothing of this until I felt a very strange sensation on my elbows. They were itching intensely as well. I then looked down at my knees and they were bright red!! I was not imagining this. I then looked at my elbows and they were bright red too! I ran into the living room to show my husband this and to tell him that I was having a very odd allergic reaction to the new spice I just used. We were both laughing, as this was so strange. Then my daughter noticed that my ankles were also turning red, and they were! The intense itching and redness of my kneecaps, elbows, and ankles lasted about 15 min. then disappeared. I looked at the spice which is called Herbamare. It is organic and contains sea salt, celery leaves, leek, cress, parsley, lovage, garlic, basil, marjoram, rosemary, thyme, and kelp. I have had most of these before, so I am thinking it could have been the lovage, leek or cress, since these are not herbs I recall eating in the past. I have never experienced anything like this before. It felt very strange. I had to find another option for dinner that night!

To your health,

Michelle

I happened upon your blog and have realy enjoyed reading it. Your son and daughter are such beatiful children in so many ways. Well, I guess your son would be considered a young man...I found myself laughing when you spoke of Miranda & her chicken naming (which is my 7 yr olds name that has been nicknamed Panda since birth)! We had a chicken my miranda named strawberry that was a white beautiful silkie. I will post a pic of her in my flickr badge if you ever want to wonder over & check it out. I look forward to reading more from you in the future.

Oh my goodness! Now that is strange. Thankfully it didn't last any longer than it did!

How are things going? I meant to tell you that the ladies were just thrilled with the gifts from your yard sale. I felt so bad that I didn't buy anything. I did not come prepared to. I should know better! You had a ton of good childrens books there...I was drooling :).

How's everything going? The co-op, mops, etc etc? You've been on my mind & in my prayers! Take care :)

Glad to hear you are better! Your family story is so amazing! I am hoping to add animals to out farm...someday. have to convince DH though. I like the thought of establishing a routine and learning responsibilty. DH doesn't like the added "work". Funny thing is that he was raised here on this farm and had all kinds of animals when he was younger.

Oh my what a bad thing to happen. Did you ever find out exactly what was the cause of the allergic action?
Read some of your blog......so nice of your son to take over for ya and grow a garden....so SWEET! Nice pics of your kiddos enjoying the porch.

Have a wonderful day.

wow! Sorry to hear that you had such an adverse reaction.
Too bad because Herbamere is such a great product....I've been using it for over 10 years now and never had a problem.
I'm glad that it only lasted the 15 minutes and not any longer.
What a horrible experience.
