Bunny Business
I have had 2 buck rabbits for a while now basically for pets, but hubby and I had been discussing getting a few does for breeding, our plans are to sell the offspring and possibly eat one or 2.(i'm not keen on this idea..LOL) Anyway I hadn't looked real hard to find any....But we all know the Lord has a way of providing...a little while ago I got a phone call from a lady not to far from me and she was wondering if I would be interested in 3 doe rabbits she had!! WOW! I told her yes and that I would be there tomorrow evening to pick them up....She had gotten my number from our local feed store ...she had mentioned to the man she had 3 doe rabbits to get rid of and he said he knew just the place...LOL..hubby had gave the owner our phone number for work purposes...anyway she said she heard I had critters and was wondering if I would be interested in the rabbits...God is amazing isn't he?!? Will post pictures after I pick them up!

We've bred rabbits for eating and it was really hard. After Mom went through all the work of butchering, non of us could bring ourselves to eat our pet when she put it/him on the table. :-/ Not a good experience! LOL That was several years ago, but we now raise angora rabbits for fiber and they are wonderful! Their fiber gets to be about 4in. long and sooo soft! They shed it out twice a year and we've used it (with our sheep's wool) in our sock yarn blends with soft success. :-) They also have the cutest little fur-ball babies that we've sold around town as pets in the past. Just another use for those long eared creatures. :-)
