Thank God I'm a Country Boy...

So guess what?!  My parents are considering getting a few cows and some pigs!  I am absolutely thrilled!!!  That would be so awesome, I can't even imagine how happy I would be.  The only reason that they are being cautious about it is because they're afriad I would become too attached to them and then they wouldn't be butchered, which is the reason they would be getting them to begin with.  Is there any way not to become attached to these animals?  *sigh*  I really want them!

If they are getting them for the purpose of butchering them, the one thing I suggest you don't do, is name them. Once they have a name they then get personalities and from then on it's too hard to let go. I raise rabbits for the meat and they are the cutest little things and it's hard but you know it has to be done. Just dont give them a name. lol

Okay, I dont know if this would work or not...because we didnt do this with our chickens and now we dont have the heart to butcher them, but I heard that if you dont name them, its not so bad. I guess if you dont act like they are pets that might help too!
