Yesterday, I continued helping my mother move things over to the farmhouse. My dad refuses to help, because he'd much rather stay where they are. My sister can't help, because she's due to have a baby in March. So, that leaves me... I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to live over there at the farmhouse. It's five minutes from Lake Raystown, an 8,000 acre lake surrounded by forests and rolling hills and it's ten minutes from Trough Creek State Park, a beautiful park with waterfalls, hiking trails, and many secluded picnicing areas. The farmhouse itself was built in the late 1800's. It has two bedrooms, one and a half baths, an office, laundry room, living room, and there's an addition on the back for a country kitchen. It's heated using a woodburning stove. But has oil backup heat, for those days you don't feel like chopping wood. The farmhouse sits on 13 acres. Half is wooded and half is farmland. There is a one car garage and one small outbuilding, which will be renovated and turned into a chicken coop (for me!!) this spring. There are well established fruit trees as well as grape vines. Again, I just can't imagine a nicer place for my mother to live. www.raystownlake.com

...a dream property! The 2 bedrooms might be a tad small for my family of 6, but children are still little and could squeeze, besides I am sure there is room for adding on. Sure you mom doesnt want to sell it? :) Just kidding as much as I love beautiful PA, if I have to move from where I amt, I would move to KY where my family is (with an old farmhouse, lake, lots of acreage, fruit trees, garage etc). Enjoy your new place.
