Thank God I'm a Country Boy...

Today is September 11th... Patriot Day.  On the morning of 9/11/01, I was the opening manager at the local McDonald's.  I woke up early, around 3:30 am.  All went well opening that day.  Around 9am, I took my break.  As usual, I spent this time in my car, listening to the radio.  I heard something about the World Trade Center, but didn't pay much attention.  After about 15 minutes, I went back inside the restaurant.  I clocked back in, and made my way to the office.  I was stopped by one of my crew members, who told me of the attacks.  Before I knew it, it was chaos.  Everyone was calling to let us know what had happened, I had crew members crying, customers crying, even I was crying.  Then came the news that Flight 93 had crashed in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.  This is the county next to mine.  I'd been in the area countless times.  Now things were really begining to hit home.  I was scared.  I ended up leaving work because I was so upset.  I spent the rest of the day glued to the TV and in the company of my friends and family.  That will be a day I'll never forget.
