Happy Birthday Momma!

Happy Birthday Momma!

It Momma’s birthday today! She’s 40… growin’ old now. :) Everyday I thank God for my Momma. She is my comforter, adviser, teacher, but best of all, she’s *my Momma*. I love you so much, Momma, words can’t tell you just how much you mean to me. I am so thankful that God gave me such a caring, loving, wonderful mother to teach me and train me to follow in His steps.

Happy Birthday Mama!!!

I know you love barns, especially ours, and this is one of of favourite pictures (minus the lawn mower). :) I took it one morning, before the sun came up. It had rained and it was beautiful, just like you!

Love you Momma, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Love,
Lil’ Girlie

Happy Birthday Caleb and Daddy! :)

Today is Dad's birthday. The 18th was my Lil' Bro Caleb's birthday. I was not able to post about it then, so I am doing a combined  birthday post for them both.

First, I must sing the song -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR CALEB AND DAD!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
You can find Dad's blog here: A Simple Man, if you want to leave him a comment wishing him a Happy Birthday. He doesn't blog on it too much, but all of my cyber-space friends, please wish him a Happy Birthday! :) He would greatly enjoy that!

If you wish to leave a comment  for Caleb, go to Mom's blog, Walking Therein, and leave one. He thinks that her blog is his blog too. He is so funny when he says to Mom, "Can I looka mina blog?" :D What a sweetie he is! Caleb was the poster-boy for Miss Kylie's 20 Day Prayer Challenge, as you see here -

This is not the most recent picture of him, but look at him, he's just as cute now as he was then!

Miss Jocelyn did a super-neat post ab out his birthday... she even put a slideshow on it. Very cute pictures of him in his Cowboy Outfit. She wrote a poem about him too. Go check it out!

Our Cowboy Caleb

Thank you for joining me today in celebration of Dad's birthday and Lil' Cowboy Caleb's birthday! Have a blessed day!

Another Fun Week! :)

This past week and weekend has been so much fun. With all the commotion regarding Jocelyn's 17th birthday party, we have been busy but it has been fun. Last Thursday, we cleaned for the most part of the day. Dad had been planning a surprise for us, but Amanda and Jocelyn had found out. We had thought that Dad was going to bring something home for us. I asked him if it was bigger than a car. He said yes. What could be bigger than a car? Well, Dad wouldn't let us eat dinner until the surprise came. We were asking Caleb what it was because Mom had told him what it was. Around 8:15pm, a white car pulls up the driveway. Then, when it was parked, Dad tells us kids to go out and see who it is. Guess what? It was my Grandma and Aunt Jen! I hadn't seen my Aunt in over 2 years. This was such a great surprise.

Later that night, after everything had been done, we got our haircuts. I got a picture of me with my hair getting cut, but I don't want to put it on here. Not a very good one of me. But here is one of Jocelyn getting her perm:

After her perm was done, Auntie Christina wanted Jocelyn to open her birthday present from her. You know, it was her birthday. So she did, and guess what it was? A beautiful afghan! Look at the colours! It is so beautiful, and so Jocelyn. She loves it.

I went to bed around 4am... after a snack of cheese and pickles.

On Friday, my Grandma and Aunt went to my uncle's to spend the day with them. So Jocelyn, Amanda and I went to the store to shop for clothes for Jocelyn. We went to Peeble's, but did not find anything that was worth $30 - $40. Then we went to Kroger, because Jocelyn had said they had gotten some new organic stuff there that Amanda really likes. Amanda also got some makeup for Mom. We found a Boston fern, which Mom really likes, so we had to get it for her. It's huge. She calls it 'monster'.  Then we went to Wal-Mart to see if they had any shirts or skirts we would be interested in. We didn't find any but we did get some flowers for Mom, Grandma and Aunt Jen. We got Mom yellow roses, Grandma white roses, and Aunt Jen white-and-pink carnations. They were very pretty.

Oh, before we left for the store, Jocelyn got to open her gift from Eyebright and Bluejane: a beautiful green shawl. It has a flower design on it. Very neat!

We came home and started cleaning. After dinner, we started preparing the food for the party. We were up until 2am, making, cutting, putting away... boy were we tired!!!

We got up around 10am on Saturday... then the cleaning and making ready began! We set of the tables and chairs outside, and made sure everyone was in fresh clothes. By the time people started arriving, which was the B.'s, we had everything read. Even the tea and lemonade was made. We had such fun talking and telling stories. Then we ate lunch. The kids ate outside, and the adults, besides Mr. and Mrs. B. ate inside.

Here is a couple pictures from when we were eating:
This one is of Maggie and Amanda.

I love this one of Breezy and Jocelyn. They are both so pretty. :)

Here's LucyLillie. She was the star of the party.... showing off how sh could walk so nicely.

Amanda made Jocelyn's cake, and we had ice cream and cake while she opened her gifts. I shall not name them, because I am sure Jocelyn want to tell you all about it. :D

When they had to leave, we wanted a picture with all the girls. So... here we are!

We had such a fun time with all of them. I hope we can see the B.'s again soon. :)

What a Weekend!

Well, I am sorry I have not been able to post for awhile. We have been quite busy with getting everything ready for LucyLillie's party that was Monday. On Sunday, my Grt. Grandparents and Mom's dad came over for awhile to spend time together. Lucy got a couple presents and then we just spent time talking. Jocelyn showed Grt. Grandma the icon she made for the Feelin' Feminine Challenge using the picture from their wedding. She was thrilled when she saw it. That picture is one of my favourites, if I may say so myself. :)

Monday was a whirlwind of fun! I got up around 9:30am to do chores with
Eric and make sure everything was spick and span for when the company arrived. We did two or three tubs of dishes before lunch, and then when lunch was done, there was two more tubs to do! Oh... dishes accumulate so quickly. :( The only bad thing was that Lucy-Goosey wasn't feeling too well. We think she is cutting a new tooth, but she was kind of warm all day. Grouchy... poor baby. She had a fun time wit her presents though!

Around three
Breezy, Emily Rose, and their Mom got here. It was kind of awkward for the first fifteen minutes because we didn't know what to say. Haha. Like it always is with meeting new people. Emily Rose got out he camera to take some pictures and Eric and Hannah wanted it. There are more of the Emily Rose and Breezy with the Littles than of Lucy!

Our neighbour also came by for awhile. We ate a delicious dinner of spaghetti, with green beans and peas for vegetables. Oh and don't forget the delicious garlic bread too! Everyone enjoyed it. Jocelyn and Amanda made it, the famous Dixon Chefs. After that, Jocelyn frosted the cake. Amanda had Dad pick up some strawberry frosting and she decorated the sides of the cake with that and wrote on the top. It was a pretty nice homemade birthday cake. We ate it with some Neapolitan ice cream. The funny thing about the ice cream was that the girls hadn't thought of scooping it across the entire tub, getting all three kinds at once. We joked about that for awhile.

While we ate our ice cream and cake, Lucy opened her gifts. she got the same dresses from Breezy and Emily Rose as she got from my Grandma Starr. it was funny. But now we have two, so if one gets dirty, she can wear the other! Haha. They are so cute though. Ones green and ones pink. They are both dresses too. She also got a purple sweater that is the cutest ever from the B's.

After that we hung around. Breezy and Emily Rose went outside for a little while. Breezy played football-catch with Eric and Dad for a bit and Emily Rose and I talked. We went in for awhile, and Emily Rose showed Jocelyn how to do a few tricks on PhotoShop. I sat on the swing set for a little bit pushing Caleb and watching Eric and
Dad play catch. When I came in, Eric and Emily Rose went and fed the chickens. Mrs. B also came down to the barn while we did the chores. I gathered the eggs, and fed Pemberly. They all loved the goats and we spent about fifteen minutes down there petting them and talking. After that it was getting dark, so they had to leave. :( I was sad about that. We took some 'farewell' pictures before they left. We could have stalled a little longer, but they really had to go. They left around nine.

All in all, it was a good day. Lucy wasn't feeling well for most of it... poor dear... :( She ate some crackers and ice. Just not a good day for her birthday! Well, maybe she will be better tomorrow. Oh and we also got a call from Auntie Christina. They all sang happy birthday to Lucy on the phone. It was so sweet.

Guess who's birthday is coming up next? Yep, Jocelyn. She is having a grand party with lots of things.. not exactly sure what is going to happen. I know she sent out lots of invitations. We are hoping that Breezy and Emily Rose will be able to come with both their parents. It will be fun anyways... :)

Ok, well, I had better go comment now. Hope you all have a lovely day! God bless you.

Happy Birthday, Eric! You’re 10 Today!

Today is Eric’s 10th birthday! He is reaching the double digits today. In honor of his birthday, I would like to post 10 things I like about him most.

The Top 10 Things I Love About My Brother, Eric:

He’s intelligent and can figure out things in a logical way (for a 10yo)

He’s helpful when I need him to be helpful (very gentleman like)

He carries things for me, like water and such down to the barn (very gentleman like)

He knows how to cook breakfast, and he can be a help with dinner (a very BIG help!)

He fun to work and *play* with (a fun brother)

He knows how to make you feel better, even when you’re mad at him (what a sweetie!)

He knows a good book when he sees one (I LOVE that!)

He loves to garden, just like me! (a Hobbit thing, I guess)

He doesn’t just want to make himself happy, he wants everyone to be happy too! (that’s what I call gentlemanly behavior)

And last but not least, I love him because he is the one God gave me as my brother and he means a lot to me. (God is so GOOD!)

There you have it. Now, hop on over and wish him a wonderful, spectacular, amazing, greatest birthday in the WHOLE WORLD! Kind of like Willy Wonka’s candy bars are the best in the world, if you know what I mean!

Also, more birthdays in the months of June and July:

Eric’s - June 1

Caleb’s - June 18

Dad’s - June 20

Isaac - July 23

Pretty soon it’ll be my birthday! I’ll be 14. Wow... that’s sad...

I’ll be posting about them too! Read the post below this one to see about the Suarez’ visit and some other stuff too!

Sincerely,

Lady Rachel
