Another Fun Week! :)This past week and weekend has been so much fun. With all the commotion regarding Jocelyn's 17th birthday party, we have been busy but it has been fun. Last Thursday, we cleaned for the most part of the day. Dad had been planning a surprise for us, but Amanda and Jocelyn had found out. We had thought that Dad was going to bring something home for us. I asked him if it was bigger than a car. He said yes. What could be bigger than a car? Well, Dad wouldn't let us eat dinner until the surprise came. We were asking Caleb what it was because Mom had told him what it was. Around 8:15pm, a white car pulls up the driveway. Then, when it was parked, Dad tells us kids to go out and see who it is. Guess what? It was my Grandma and Aunt Jen! I hadn't seen my Aunt in over 2 years. This was such a great surprise. After her perm was done, Auntie Christina wanted Jocelyn to open her birthday present from her. You know, it was her birthday. So she did, and guess what it was? A beautiful afghan! Look at the colours! It is so beautiful, and so Jocelyn. She loves it. I went to bed around 4am... after a snack of cheese and pickles. On Friday, my Grandma and Aunt went to my uncle's to spend the day with them. So Jocelyn, Amanda and I went to the store to shop for clothes for Jocelyn. We went to Peeble's, but did not find anything that was worth $30 - $40. Then we went to Kroger, because Jocelyn had said they had gotten some new organic stuff there that Amanda really likes. Amanda also got some makeup for Mom. We found a Boston fern, which Mom really likes, so we had to get it for her. It's huge. She calls it 'monster'. Then we went to Wal-Mart to see if they had any shirts or skirts we would be interested in. We didn't find any but we did get some flowers for Mom, Grandma and Aunt Jen. We got Mom yellow roses, Grandma white roses, and Aunt Jen white-and-pink carnations. They were very pretty. Oh, before we left for the store, Jocelyn got to open her gift from Eyebright and Bluejane: a beautiful green shawl. It has a flower design on it. Very neat! We came home and started cleaning. After dinner, we started preparing the food for the party. We were up until 2am, making, cutting, putting away... boy were we tired!!! We got up around 10am on Saturday... then the cleaning and making ready began! We set of the tables and chairs outside, and made sure everyone was in fresh clothes. By the time people started arriving, which was the B.'s, we had everything read. Even the tea and lemonade was made. We had such fun talking and telling stories. Then we ate lunch. The kids ate outside, and the adults, besides Mr. and Mrs. B. ate inside. Here is a couple pictures from when we were eating: This one is of Maggie and Amanda. I love this one of Breezy and Jocelyn. They are both so pretty. :) Here's LucyLillie. She was the star of the party.... showing off how sh could walk so nicely. Amanda made Jocelyn's cake, and we had ice cream and cake while she opened her gifts. I shall not name them, because I am sure Jocelyn want to tell you all about it. :D When they had to leave, we wanted a picture with all the girls. So... here we are! We had such a fun time with all of them. I hope we can see the B.'s again soon. :)
Rachel I hope you have enjoyed reading the thoughts of a fourteen-year-old girl from the country."You can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens you!" Philippians 4:13
